F*n Delicious! — 5 years ago
I love this 2015 Pinot. It was this wine that convinced me to become a wine club member at Rideau. — 6 years ago
Deliciously dry & succulent — 6 years ago
Some pretty solid natty Chenin from Marie Thibauld in Touraine Azay le Rideau. First time trying this producer; have heard good things and am definitely not disappointed. Not dissimilar to a vinous equivalent to Basque cider; tangy and apple-y with great acidity. Bright in the glass with a medium (-) intensity straw-gold hue. Medium /medium (+) concentration of aromatics of tart green apple, oxidized apple juice, crushed wet flint, preserved lime, tarragon, hard cheese rind leesiness, lanolin, and some fresh jasmine. A bit of VA but in a small enough amount to be actually kinda enjoyable and provide some complexity and lift rather than come across as a distracting fault (and is probably partially responsible for my Basque cider comparison as well). On the palate, there's more tart green apple, wet flint, wooly lanolin character, and hard cheese rind, plus some underripe peach and citrus blossom.
High acid, dry, medium (-) body with a nice oily leesy texture, and the alcohol is medium and totally in balance. Nice length on the palate.
Pretty enjoyable stuff. Would love this with some fried chicken! — 7 years ago
Easy drinking clean rose, strawberry and lemon backed with gentle dryness. Great with spicy food — 4 years ago
Excellent Loire Tourraine. — 4 years ago
Bright mineral and leesy. Easy drink with some interesting notes to slow u down — 5 years ago
Woolen, honeyed, pomaceous, herbal, pithy, floral. There’s a lovely smoky flintiness that intensifies with time. Very classic aromatically
with unmistakable limestone/clay terroir, bruised apple, chamomile and lemon pith resonating on the finish. I’m revising my notes because this impressed me more after three days (under basic closure, no argon,
48 F). I still could use a bit more acidity to lift the mid palate, but the ML is not as heavy as I originally thought. — 6 years ago
Stone fruit, slightly apricot and undertones of baking spice on nose. On the palate velvety yet still light with vanilla and almond and citrus notes — 7 years ago
This is a wonderful Viognier from California. Even as a 4 year old, it is fresh, opulent, rich and exciting.
Showing citrus, oak, grapefruits, red apples, minerals, melons, spices, vanilla and black pepper.
Full-bodied and big and bold, with medium acidity. Beautiful legs on this white wine.
Spicy and a pleasure to drink by itself.
15.2% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Excellent. Red berries, brut, delicious. Drink this for the joy, not the complexity. — 5 years ago

Smells like pineapple mixed with peach. Which makes the tart dryness a wonderful surprise. — 7 years ago
