Small initial soft aroma of rick dark fruit. Dark red bubbles. Huge burst of rich dry tannins in the middle than fades beautifully. Coats your mouth with velvet smoothness of non sweet raspberries. — 11 years ago

2006 Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair Vosne Romanee Burgundy. Drank w Rick and K at Providence. Beautiful wine that had nice strawberry and cherry notes with some earthier smoke- like noses. Forge Cellars is an intriguing collaboration between Louis Barruol, proprietor of St. Cosme in Gigondas, wine grower Rick Rainey, and vintner Justin Boyette. Their 2014 'Classique' Pinot Noir is fine-boned and poised with floral, woodsy aromatics of decaying rose petals, hibiscus, underbrush, and sous. It's translucent quinacridone violet with lean, elegant curves underpinned by high-toned red berries, rose hips and crushed stone that tapirs to a lingering finish. 12.3% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
