Deep purple in colour. Some sediment. Cedar, tobacco, black currant on the nose. Black fruit, tobacco to taste. Long finish. Opened up in the glass. Could handle one to two more years in the cellar. — 8 years ago

Another 4th Friday for the books! What a variety this month!

Very unique WA state wine. Bottle decanted for 6 hours and even after letting it sit in my glass for a good while, this puppy was still tightly knit. Lots of fruit here but it avoids being jammy. Bold black and red fruits and even some grapefruit. There was a spice/pepper note on the finish. — 8 years ago

Take a dill pickle from a good deli and bash it around in a well-made humidor then set that whole affair in front of a bowl of blackberry conserves. Et voila! Initial impressions. With air, this sheds the dill and cedar and replaces it with wintergreen. Overall a beautiful expression of a difficult and contentious variety. Satisfy your curiosity here; you'll enjoy it. — 9 years ago
