This wine is stunning. All the things you expect from a north Berkeley wine. I could go on and on with notes but seriously it’s just really fu*%ing good!!! — 5 years ago
This is magical. You know when a white is really open for business and showing the benefit not detriment of oxidation? This is that. Compelling and mature and probably in its best spot. Started off as a aperitif and became a food wine and something for contemplation too over a few hours. Great work! — 6 years ago
Rich with notes of quince and apple. Bright acidity carries it. — 7 years ago
Excellent value PN from Pataille. Tart red fruit, spice and forest floor. Love it. — 9 months ago
PnP after a long, successful ballgame.
Big waxy candied citrus, nose, needs some air to coax. Gives the impression of great depth. Clementines. Pears.
P: Very round, mouth filling, very glyceral, lemon skin, ginger. Really develops with air.

The 2012 Cathiard Aux Reignots (along with Malconsorts and Petits Monts, my favorite 1er cru Vosne vineyard), is much more masculine and dark fruited than the MG. Really a great side by side. There is some reduction and prevalent new oak, but there is just such depth and structure to this wine and it’s destined to live for the long haul. But unlike how reticent many 12’s can be right now, as the reduction dissipates, it offers a great deal of pleasure. Reignots is really a special vineyard. — 4 years ago
