Blend of #chardonnay #gewürtztraminer and #moscatel #muscat Chardonnay is the leading grape. Fresh and juicy, reminiscent of Sta Rita Hills. — 6 years ago

Very happy with my wine purchase. Notes of sweet black cherry, it's really delightful, and lightly herby/floral on the nose with a bite of acidity
Initially it's very soft on the palate with undertones of cherry and blackberry. It's followed by a warm, rounded tannic body that continues to carry the cherry throughout. Ends very gently with a more berry/herby aftertaste with notes of unknown herbs — a year ago
Inky and dark. Needs at least an hour to open up. Rich black fruit, chocolate, mocha, perhaps subtle vegetal note. Grippy but not overwhelmingly tannic. Good structure with high acid. Very good now and probably for at least a few years. — 6 years ago
Great red from Uruguay. Big black fruit aromas. Full and ripe fruit flavors of blackberries and plums. Big note of juniper berries. Hints of herbs and just the right amount of oak. Rich and velvety texture. Did not have the big tannin structure I was expecting. Blending in 30% Merlot is a great move. Really softened the big Tennat tannin reputation. Outstanding vino! — 7 years ago

Surprised by this wine. Complex for such a young wine. Dry, deep, noticeable tannins, berries. R loved it. Thought it was good and well rounded. — 9 months ago
Great expression of the Hybrid Marselan grape. So much better than I expected. Tasted side by side with a Marselan from Southern France. Though both were quite good, the Garzon version won the competition. Deep red color. Aromas and flavors of red fruit, minerals and menthol. Sweet spices on the long finish. Medium-plus body. Has the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and the brightness of Grenache. Quite expressive. Solid value. Very pleasant surprise. — 4 years ago

Nice dry red with a good tannin finish. Paired great with Llama steak and stuffed acorn squash. — 8 years ago

Another solid vintage of this Uruguayan Cabernet Franc. Dark purple color with violet highlights. Aromas of black fruit, tar, violets and poblano peppers. Flavors of ripe blackberry, prunes, bramble berries, pepper spice and dark chocolate. Hint of mint on the long and fruit forward finish. Firm and chalky tannins and medium bodied. Well balanced and complex. Well crafted. Solid QPR. Thanks for including in your Cab Franc Tasting, Ron B! Revisited in July 2025. Nice freshness! — 6 months ago
