The versatility of Tempranillo is amazing to me. Medium bodied, ruby color. Red fruit and vanilla on the nose; cherry and plumb clearly on the palate. Peppery spiciness. Medium tannins and balanced acidity. Had it with pasta bolognese and with steak on different days. Paired great with both. — 8 years ago
Rustic, austere nose of brambles, plumb, earth, and pepper. Lovely balance - spicy fruit, meat, undergrowth, black fruit. Not heavy but concentrated flavour with excellent spine and structure. Still young but v good — 8 years ago
Valentine's Day surprise! Plumb, ripe berries, and subtly vanilla. Fantastic. Beast Douro wine. — 8 years ago
Balanced, a little spice with deep plumb sweetness. Better than anticipated. — 9 years ago
Excellent example of Napa Cab. Dark purple center with short watery meniscus. Fresh cut oak plank, orange blossom, dark plumb, raisin, vanilla, tobacco and tar. Tannic plus which required 2 hours decanting. Med acidity and long finish. — 9 years ago
Deep, yet lighter flavors, oh so silky smooth. Pleasing aroma with vanilla/plumb taste. A fine match with a steak dinner or fried chicken or Friday with pizza. — 8 years ago
👁 Clear ruby purple
👃 Jammy, stewed black fruits -cherry, plumb, blackberry, spice box, coal and charring.
👅 Great acidity and excellent structure. Charred pizza crust, forest floor and earth.

Nice aroma is plumb and cherry. Goes great with some sharp cheeses. Very mild start with a robust end. I would think it was aged in oak barrels with the spicy end that is very subtle. — 9 years ago
Exellent Bordeaux blend with a nice clean buzz. Spicy pepper charcoal and plumb notes delight the senses and the unique flavors have an enjoyable long draw. — 9 years ago

Its Italian night! This is Brunelli2010 Brunello di Montalcino imported by my favorite importers, Small Vineyards in Seattle WA. It is 14% and feels like 13%. Nevertheless, the bouquet is nothing like a California cab - yes I know its not comparable, but this is my base. It is almost like a plumb pie. Don't let this discourage you. On second smell, Its almost like a rubber fishing worm. Still, not what Im used to so maybe I don't know what the heck Im smelling! The color does have that slightly brown tint to the beautiful Oregon pinot color. The initial palate is crisp and fruity like cherries and cranberries. Nevertheless, the mid palate is just like a fresh sip of 100% cranberry juice. The finish comes with that lingering tartness of cranberry juice with a drying of the upper palate and a splash of spice. It is dry. It is good. It is one of my favorites! — 8 years ago
Started closed with strawberry and sour cherry character but really opened up and put on weight with air. Plumb and cedar evolved. Still lots of life left — 8 years ago
Flavors of cassis and raisins at first, then musky, unfinished basement. Incredibly smooth. The nose in the glass has deep notes of cigar and the woods at dusk, which reminds me of fly fishing, but above the glass it's noticably sweeter, with oatmeal and plumb, and other notes that are harder to describe. Like wandering in the dark. — 9 years ago
Love the 45% Cab Franc, which lightens and brightens in a really good way. Nice, particularly for first vintage. — 9 years ago

Typical of Behrens, massive amount of fruit which I find overbearing at times. This wine bursts from the glass with black fruit with a slightly plumb like flavor with loads of oak and tannin and a 45 second finish. Better than I expected. — 7 years ago
