Lucky day. Trying this at a picnic in Bear Valley amongst wildflowers. Looks a bit like rusty nails. Brick orange to red rust color. Bit of ruby red in there too. Aroma is pipe tobacco or cigars with cherry cordial and dark cocoa. It smells great for an aged wine. Perfumed. Flavor is elegant. Plenty of acid after all these years and very smooth tannins for a Cab as I guess one expect after 25 years. This is just lovely well-aged stuff from way back. A great pleasure to have this on a plain of wildflowers on a lovely April Sunday. Thanks Nicole Salengo for sharing. Makes one forget about the Covid 19 crisis for a bit. — 6 years ago

Well still quite the surprise for a 13 year old second wine. Medium garnet color very fragrant floral earthy nose with good acidity and weight on palate carrying through to finish with a hint of smokiness. Almost overpowered the plain roast duck but got along nicely with the Momofulu Chili paste that had just that touch of spicy note. Bodes well for the CDPs resting nicely. Did fade in Cali bothers after 3+ days. — 5 years ago
My first encounter with this Moncuit and it's safe to say that the quality here is at least as good as their more famed namesake (at least for me). On a side note, does anyone know if or how Pierre and Robert are related?
This juice is plain electric. Not viciously austere like some growers these days, but definitely lean. The nose is fresh, floral, and chalky. On the palate, it is airy yet quite punchy with the citrus and mineral notes. There's a sliver of biscuit and nuts in the lingering finish. Builds with more minerality as it opens up with air. Really enjoyed this wine with dinner. Superb value! — 5 years ago
Tart. Fairly thin. Not too full bodied. Dave doesnt know how he feels about it bc of mountain dew — 6 years ago

Lovely cab franc with just the right amount of mineral on the finish with hints of leather and dark fruit. — 9 years ago

Okay, no one is confusing this with a Chateau Margeaux, but that's only because it lacks the really deep complexity. And many other ways, it has the rich depth and smooth tannins and even some of the aromas of the real thing. Lovely one. — 5 years ago
