Color is light copper, trending more orange-yellow.
Nose has Clementine peel, cold apricot, orange oil, warm strawberries, sea salt and sliced peaches.
Palate has peach, dried orange, dried sage, dry sliced almonds, minor saline notes and orange zest. Long finish, continually evolving, actually just tossed this intro a decanter as I think it will benefit.
Fun wine, can easily understand it's prowess and popularity, it's in the zone for us as well.
Paired with sugar/salt rubbed Cod cooked in the sous vide bath, then topped with sauteed shallots/capers, aside parmesan/panko spring peas. So yum! — 6 years ago
Funky barnyard and earth on the nose with notes of botrytis (Noble Rot) of Chenin Blanc. Incredibly smooth with notes of pear, honeysuckle, pineapple, ginger (gingerbread cookies), lemon peel, and chamomile tea.... amazing how this wine continues to change as it opens up.... very different and interesting. 😀🇨🇵🍷Santè — 6 years ago

Lovely terrier driven mineral nose with hints a hazelnut laced with lemon peel and Fuji apple fruit. Palate is missing a touch of intensity but mineral and citrus flavors. Thoroughly enjoyable but seeking a bit more complexity. — 7 years ago
Delicious Chardonnay craving more time in bottle. Structured and textured. Round citrus fruit that’s restrained yet weighty. Long finish of clean lemon and orange peel and oh so faintly creamy. — 8 years ago
Bright and vivid on the nose with just a hint of reduction to the crisp apple, tangerine peel, lemon curd and lime fruit aromas. Racy on the entry with lovely salty, mineral based citrus fruit flavors. Zippy focused finish. This should fill out and gain complexity with 3 to 5 more years in the cellar. — 8 years ago

Half-bottle. The wine was medium amber in colour and offered orange peel, apple, honeycomb, caramel, smoke, spices, sherry and a mouldy note on the nose. On the palate the wine showed orange, peach, apple, cane sugar, caramel, smoke, spices, creamy honey, some coffee, a hint of chocolate, sherry, mild black tea and a mouldy note, paired with medium-plus acidity, a creamy honey mouthfeel and very good length. Judged by this half-bottle the wine has just passed its plateau and started its slow journey on the downward slope. A good, medium-bodied Sauternes with lots of botrytis character. Drink now. 89 — 12 years ago
The beautiful salmon-colored wine displays a nose of cherry, red currant and an herbal hint of spearmint. The palate has a zippy acidity - Grahm says zippier than in previous vintages - and an abundance of red fruit, a citrus peel angle and a touch of tanginess. Salads and seafood, sure, but even better if you’re having them on the deck and can afford to have a few more glasses after lunch. — 5 years ago

Ameztoi Getariako Txakolina Rubentis Rosé - Mini-Vertical
50% Hondarrabi Zuri / 50% Hondarrabi Beltza
Nose has ripe strawberry, dried orange peel, ripe Clementine orange and tangerine gummy bears (yum).
Palate has tart strawberry, tart raspberry, minor candle wax, dried grapefruit with light tannins.
Txakolina rosé tasting on the 2020 Summer Solstice, perfect for a hot/humid day in the Berkshires. Last bottle from our cellar. — 6 years ago
Wow. Mark’s Lauren Vineyard chard is always my favorite, but this 2008 is absolutely unreal. Incredible nose of honeysuckle, white flowers, lemon peel, and a touch of vanilla, the mouthfeel on this is unbelievable. Impeccable balance, with a finish that lasts well over a minute, this is one of the best chardonnays I’ve had in a long time. Just awesome. — 6 years ago

Concentrated and intense, creamy nectarine, peach pitt, honeysuckle, orange peel. Terrific wine and would never believe how high alcohol. 14.5%. — 8 years ago
The 2016s just came in so I had to rip one open. This might be the best SC ever and that is saying a lot. It’s certainly the best one for early drinking as it was singing with only a splash decant. A return to dark fruits, cedar, orange peel. The life of the party. — 8 years ago

The last of six bottles and it was brilliant. Crushed, wet and dry stones over pretty lemon curd and orange peel fruit tones. The palate is mature but still vibrant. Hints of hazelnut to accent blood orange and Meyer lemon fruit. It finishes crisp and zingy with a dynamite mineral streak. — 9 years ago
A little hot on the nose with candied orange peel. Very mellowed acidity. Marmalade on toast. — 11 years ago
2006. Ripe stone fruits, lemon peel, baked apple, some petrol — 12 years ago
Words escape me...Notes later, best E&M Rosé to date!
Nose has ripe cranberry, mashed raspberry, blood orange flesh, mashed strawberry, recently cut grass, oak bark and a pint of cherries.
Palate has tart cherry, strawberry, over-ripe raspberry, fresh Clementine peel, (minor) baking spice, cold plum with a long finish. Weighty yet finessed
I can't believe I'm stating this, but I think this wine exceeds the 2017 version, which I thought was bonkers, this is better! — 6 years ago

2020/4/15-16 with Venetian red tonguebsole roasted with potatoes and onions and chicory salad, and black sea bream linguine and fava, pancetta and onion ragu. Monteraponi is always so good - up there with Montevertine among my favorite Chianti estates. The 2017 edition is a light to medium weight with a nice transparent texture, and that dried orange peel and cherry thing. — 6 years ago
1952. Yes 1952. Still drinking well. Tons of flavours. Caramel. Orange peel. Cherry. With a hint of vanilla. Hart to believe this was over 60 years old — 7 years ago
Powerhouse of resinous, herbal and spice aromas. Dried flower, potpourri, figs, orange peel, spiced herbal tea with essential oils and tar in the background. Heredia and Musar are definitely the leading purveyors of this style, though this is Heredia’s first rosado in several years and very highly anticipated. It does not disappoint. — 8 years ago
Took quite a while to come around. Decanted and aired 4 hours and still quite funky. Poured back in bottle and in frig over night. 2nd night wow what a difference ... not great but very nice. aromatic with orange peel and nuts, balanced with textural acidity — 8 years ago
Spiced mango, jasmine, bergamot, black tea, tangerine peel, very juicy and expressive and with plenty of weight. In the mouth there is a wonderful sweet juicy orange, tangerine lead acidity but also an unctuous richness of golden syrup, super ripe stone fruits, a great freshness on the long finish. — 11 years ago

Doing great! Prior notes still work, when will this bottle decline? I might never find out, only one bottle left!
Nose has cedar resin infused cherry-red raspberry, rose-like florals and oak bark.
Palate has fresh cranberry, under-ripe cherry, citrus peel, dried herbs and (high) acidity. Finish is medium length.
Decanted 3H. — 5 years ago
