A baby but couldn’t resist. Lean and focused. Limestone and tart yellow fruits. Excited to try day 2. Overall this is held up on day 2 but with such a high price point (despite how meticulous these wines are made) And with such a delicate aroma and palette it gives me pause to recommend a $200 plus price point “village” when so many wonderful other options exist — 5 years ago
Scarlett- warming taste is evident in every pour- bold, strong and something impossible to ignore. The delight of pouring these spicy invigorating flavors, is well overdue. Hesitation and patience balance well sip after sip. Pouring deep glass fills; the twist of the unknown stands -a silent pause , evolving gradually as sand to a beach the taste enhancing more and more! — 7 years ago
I had this with a pizza in the company of the Cals...the wine completed the trinity required for a superb evening.... it has a superb bouquet coupled with mild but yet flavours which encourage a pause while consuming Bacchus this is a good one for our followers — 7 years ago
Holy Napa!!! So this Muacat incorporates all the features of a wonderful, peachy, slightly minerally northern CA white that makes a post Thanksgiving pause in the festivities worthwhile. — 7 years ago
As soon as I had my first sip (after just tasting the current, 2014 vintage and not loving it as much as I remembered), I wanted to prolong my relationship with this bottle. Like embarking on new love, you want to pause time and spend as much of it together as possible--both relishing each moment and absorbing and continuously replaying every little detail. — 8 years ago
Screams Burgundy in its counter balance of richness and nerve. So much perfume and red berry richness countered by a core of chalk laden minerals. These wines offer that upfront hedonistic pleasure but plenty of pause for those who seek a higher understanding. I want to drink this everyday. — 8 years ago
This was good but not great, just a couple things that weren’t there. Great raspberry-cherry nose. Wonderful as it hits the pallet and a great finish. But, had a bit of an acid bite in the middle, just a bit, but enough that it gave me pause and then made me search for the finish, which was great. — 3 years ago
And here we have it... our new favourite BC red. The colour is dark Burgundy, almost black. The aroma fills the nose with dark freshly ripe fruits and hints of black liquorice. On the palate, first notes are composed of freshly ripe dark plums, blackcurrant, with flavours of dark raisin and cassis. The dark fruity notes are followed by hints of vanilla, and mild mulled cooking spices and anise. It’s a big and bold dark fruit wine that is elegantly integrated with silky, royal tannins. Every sip makes you pause and appreciate its strength. If you find this you must buy it, or come to Oliver BC. — 6 years ago
I'm baaaaaack. Apologies for the pause on ratings. Back to saving the world from bad wine. Which this is NOT. Great clean Chablis. Light oak makes it perfect with a white fish with veggies and butter. Not cheap but worth the price. — 7 years ago
Beginning to really appreciate this blend. A tad sweeter than most, but easy to drink as an aperitif and it goes well with anything off the grill. — 8 years ago
I have no idea how 2015 Beaujolais will age. With that said, this is an absolute delight to enjoy right now. Balanced juicy red berries & cool blue fruit accented with silky tannins & lush texture. All these warm vintages make me pause a bit, but drinking this young is nothing but pleasure. — 8 years ago
in the glass, a very satisfying brown red with clarity and weight, a nose both floral and earthy, and a lovely perfumed first flush, strewn with challenging acid. with food and a bit of time there is a striking transparency of flavor, almost jarring, a wine of remarkable parallels and perpendiculars, and we found ourselves steering in two directions....to wash down good food or to pause and make space for contemplation. it is a pleasure, but an intellectual one, not a hedonistic one, which is a conflictingly alluring turn-off: a buzzkill that leaves you smitten. wtf, ultimately it left us wanting more, but also grateful to have reached the end, and left alert, senses intact, sharpened even, joyous, stumped, satisfied, bereft. — 4 years ago
Leaky cork gave me pause, but the juice is intact and magical. Clear, red-brown with orange rim - delicious. Drink it if you have it! — 6 years ago
Popped and poured; consumed over two days. Day 1: this was reticent. Yet, the quality was obvious with silky tannins and a pureness about it that encouraged me to pause and, in a rare case for me with Barolo, I placed the cork back in the bottle and figured I would check back with it the next evening. Day 2: this had opened to reveal fresh black berries, dark cherries, orange peel, roses and spices on the nose. On the palate, it was dark cherries over berries and minerals with a salinity to the finish that was rather awesome, actually. Towards the end of the bottle, it seems the structure was beginning to build again and I can only assume the Barolo roller-coaster ride would have continued. Too bad I ran out. I'll certainly be seeking more of this. Drink now...with some patience or hold our for more. — 7 years ago
A wine that makes you stop and pause. Citrus oil and pine; lithe minerality. Kept evolving in the glass. — 8 years ago
