2017 vintage. Floral, lime, tropical notes. Feels a little hollow, lacking depth, but still enjoyable #biodynamic — 8 years ago
Established in 1969, in Carneros in Napa Valley, cooled by fog from the San Pablo Bay. Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral scents. On the palate raspberry and strawberry fruit with baking spice and woody notes. Savory tannins, smooth and refreshing on lingering ending. Very nice. — 9 years ago
Delicious wine. Smooth and light for a Malbec. More like a full bodied Pinot. Delicious. — 4 years ago

Winery notes, Sun Chase Vineyard is planted on the west-facing hillside where the cool Petaluma Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain, this site overlooks a broad sweep of the county from the San Pablo Bay to north Santa Rosa. Our Chardonnay block with an east-west row aspect sits on a sun-drenched, rocky incline at 1000' where fruit yields are naturally limited with small clusters and aromatic fruit. Technical Notes: 76 clone, Whole-cluster pressing, 100% native yeast primary fermentation, 100% wild malolactic fermentation, 11 months in low toast, air-dry 3-year-old French oak, 25% new."

Pablo Alvarez Vega Sicilia dinner in Denver at El 5! Lovely wines and a lovely dinner. Kudos to all. — 9 years ago
Really hazy dark dull purple. Nose of leather, metallic rustic notes, graphite, and no apparent fruit notes. So I decide to let it breathe. After 20 minutes of breathing, some strawberries notes show up, some cherry, and hotness from alcohol too, but still not too impressive. Taste of strawberries, some plum, cherry, polished acidity, and silky mouthful. This is the highlight of the tasting. Aftertaste is dominated by zest of orange or grapefruit peel, peppery, and medium short. A Grenache with good leather note is something that registered in my brain. After an hour of breathing, the wine does pull herself together, as sweet and hickory plum note and cherry mix well with the original metallic note. — 9 years ago

I’ve had this bottle since 2018 and I finally decided to open it on the 4th of July! This wine has rustic ruby and purple hues. On the palet - lots of red fruit, oak, and Argentinian clay and earthy minerals. Smooth and slightly zippy with sun sweetened cherries and a sultry finish! A happy day!! — 3 years ago
