This '82 was one of my epiphany wines around 15 years ago, in the midst of all the Aussie Shiraz this highlight arose, it started me down this quite interesting journey. This bottle was stored impeccably, still has a great mid-palate intensity, but it's all dried out black fruit & dark flowers now. Dried black tea & cigar leaf. — 9 years ago
Goes beautifully with lamb and beef, Lots of Red currant flavors up front with a soft finish and a bit of tang. Make sure to let it breath. black berry flavors comes out. — 11 years ago
Absolutely magnificent! Of berries and chocolate, bright out of the bottle and velvety out of the decanter after a couple hours. Can't wait to enjoy this in 5-8 years! Cathy you're amazing! — 12 years ago

d'Yquem 99 from Mami
📝 What a perfect sexual climax to a stunning meal with fab folks 😍
Mami generously brought a 75cl bottle of this god nectar to wash down the cheeses 🧀 I died & went to heaven when I had this with blue Stilton cheese 😍
I think I had more than my fair share of this silky sweet seductive love juice 😎
Too busy enjoying for notes so check out others reviews 😜
Thank you Mami for sharing this superb treat 👍😘 — 9 years ago
So curious to see where this goes. Surprisingly accessible out of the gate. And big and delicious too. — 10 years ago
A celebration try out. We've had veuve more enjoyable than this. HOWEVER, a special occasion none-the-less. The history of the bottle is enough! — 12 years ago

Drinking well now with a short decant but still young. Floral aromas that are very inviting. Cherry, strawberry, rose petals, and tar on the palate. Broke this out to enjoy since my 2 yr old son fed our 25 lb dog about 16oz of filet mignon and now I can say this paired well with McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries. — 9 years ago
This 2005 will transport you back to a more simple time, a time when wine was an art, and each grape was hand picked with love. After a nice decanting the room was overwhelming with the fine aroma, and the occupants were drooling to taste this fine beverage which was so apparently handed down to us from the gods.
From the first sip you will be overtaken by sheer euphoria, the complex levels of grape juice flavors are like none other. This wine was paired with a fine cheese it, the dry salty taste helped to bring out all the astringency. The after notes were as pleasant as a fine autumn afternoon. The care free attitude of this wine is only more enhanced by the structure which is elaborate and ornate. This wine would be a fine addition to any collection, or a perfect bottle for a special occasion. This wine has been called the Lou Gehrig of reds, it will never walk again but we will all remember the name. Drink responsibly. — 9 years ago

Dark ruby. Opaque. Notes of dark plums, cassis, rhubarb, tobacco. Has a green element to it. At first it’s very linear and one dimensional in the mouth but rounds out with air. Nice for the vintage. — 7 years ago
