A little muddled. Great nose but exhibits neither the complexity of a mature wine nor the structure of one its prime. — 7 years ago
One of the greats — 10 years ago
Leather and sous bois and one brambles. Lovely and balanced. Still solid. Buy. — 10 years ago
For centuries now, the luscious, bright, all-encompassing delight of Champagne has been used to toast happy occasions. Often times a decent bubbly does the trick, but other times, something grander deserves to be poured.
Dom Pérignon (named after the monk who put Champagne on the map), a 2000 vintage. It's the kind of Champs one drinks upon making the decision that wine is not just a hobby, not just a passion, but a career. — 11 years ago
Not my first bottle from this case... This one is not the best, but is still good. Herbal menthol nose subtle berries, nice acid. — 12 years ago
Spicy, soily like the aroma of fresh dirt & chocolate sprinkles. I just enjoy this wine. — 12 years ago

To me Shafer is among the worlds best wineries. Aged 32 months in 100% new French oak. Vivid deep purple color, and outstanding aromas of red/black fruits, cherries and blackberries, with hints of cedar, floral oak & spice. Tasting this wine was absolutely magnificent, concentrated dark berry fruit flavors, spices, leather and oak, exploding on my palate. Soft velvety subtle tannins provide a nice deep lingering finish. Truly an outstanding Cab, one of the best. If you can find yourself a bottle, do not hesitate. Should last at least 10 more yrs. — 8 years ago
Great hints of spice, mocha and chocolate. Enjoyed it so much I finished it and needed a second bottle! Haha — 10 years ago

Enjoyed this bottle on NYE. did not disappoint. Interesting subtle tangerine tastes lingered on the tongue that I’d forgotten about. This one n/v was bottled in early 2022. Been in my possession about 2 years. — 10 months ago
