After a long ABC period, I've revisited California Chardonnays. Although not a blockbuster, the bright straw-colored '11 Simi Chardonnay 'Sonoma County' refreshes with aromas of tropical pineapple, tangerine and stone fruits, accented by cream and oaky spice flavors. Strong berry rich cabernet sav. Aromatics of plum, vanilla, blackberry. Soft to tongue with long finish with just the amounts of spice and oaky. Pairs well with grilled steak.
