Joie Farm

A Noble Blend Okanagan Valley White Blend 2018

Never disappointed with this Alsace-inspired blend from Okanagan which includes Gewurtztraminer, pinot blanc, pinot meunier, riesling and a touch of muscat. Not as sweet as one might think. Clearly on the young side but perfect with a steelhead trout. — 6 years ago

A savory juicy textured herbal food pairing champ. Like cooking sous-vide with an immersion circulator, what was once a geeky oddity has found a permanent home on our table. Not a universal solution, but really the right tool for the job in certain situations. Like pan seared halibut with fennel or spring vegetable risotto. — 7 years ago

Mr. K The Noble Man Alban Vineyard Chardonnay 2002

Darker hues than I've ever seen from this bottling. Rather amber and dark. Marzipan, kettle corn, carmelized fruit. I enjoy tasting these but they always guarantee a hangover for me. — 8 years ago

Windsor Oaks Vineyard Mourvedre 2013

Juicy and bolder than the ‘12, but still plenty of acidity and loads of red pomegranate, red currant, and other red fruits. Stone notes, too. This is a terrific addition to a dinner. — 7 years ago

Domaine Denis Mortet

Cuvée de Noble Souche Bourgogne Pinot Noir

Plum licorice nose. Dark red. Cherry 🍒, touch of licorice and raspberry. A profound Bourgogne from an excellent vintage which tastes like a Premier Cru. Excellent and a great value. From the Meritage in Encinitas. Drink now or keep for 4 years give or take. — 8 years ago

I love this wine. I love this wine because it exists all the way at the 'painstakingly clean and precise' end of the skin-contact spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I love the super-natty wild and wooly and of the spectrum too. But this. This is so purely and exactly what it sets out to be. And I love it. — 9 years ago
