2016 vintage. Dirk Niepoort's answer to Burgundy and it actually has a Pinot Noir like colour and mouthfeel. This is a very unusual Douro from very old vines. Delicate nose with sour cherries , pomegranate and flowers. It is all about finesse and subtlety. Very long. Delicious and expensive (80 euros), but if you see the prices of Portuguese high end wines these days it almost seems a bargain. — 2 years ago

Tasted blind. Beeswax, green apple, tilia and honey. After some time it becomes magnificent, bouquet enriches by honeysuckle and amber with some musk notes. Energetic, crisp and well balanced with high acidity. Lovely long aftertaste that evolves over time.
