This is a nice and light Cabernet Franc from Virginia. Showing red and blue fruits with earth, honeysuckle, chocolates, oak, vegetables and spices.

Light ruby in color with medium intensity.

Very pretty nose, sweet and flowery.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Good right out of the bottle., light and airy. Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

A good food wine that I paired with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses olive crackers.

12% alcohol by volume.

Came for the cherry, stayed for the black pepper. The spice lasts throughout the lengthy finish. Would go nicely with a pepper crusted filet or any righteously seasoned beef. — 10 years ago

2013- The Corley family never seems to disappoint. Super solid again. Nice tree fruit with a bit of a mineral note. Nicely balanced with well integrated oak. Some may wish for a little more acidity but this hits just the right notes for me. — 11 years ago

This Virginia Cabernet Sauvignon is surprisingly good! Big cherry and vanilla (cream soda) aromas and flavors. Hints of dried herbs and green pepper (not overwhelming) on the finish. Balanced acidity and smooth tannins. Was not expecting much from a Virginia Cab (Bottle claims Estate Grown from the Monticello AVA) but this wine is well made. What a great vintage this turning out to be...the hot, dry(er) summer brought a nice balance of sugar and acid. This was wisely Merlot heavy (60%), lending to cherry notes. However, the Merlot is sturdy alto that allows the PV and CF to harmonize their tenor cords. This was from some delightful place between Rhone and the Right Bank :) Well done and a Superb Value at 22$ — 11 years ago
