Pleasant cherry and plum. This was picked to pair with a whiskey cheddar, which it did remarkably well. The two have been demanded for a repeat performance at home. We will likely make Llama and Kerrygold whiskey cheddar an occasional treat. — 9 years ago

Oh the blackness that I love. Apothic Dark has become my go to for an "everyday" wine. Originally a once a year limited availability Halloween special, it is now easy to find year round. This pleases me greatly, as it is at the top of my list for casual occasions. At the same time, the limited availability made it feel like a special treat for the fall. C'est le vie. I will not spend too much time complaining that something I enjoy is affordable and easy to find at most retailers. Take in the dark fruit and chocolaty goodness. — 9 years ago

Aroma of citrus dishwasher detergent and bouquet of Pine-sol. Taste confirmed. Zephyr was an unpleasant experience. Unfortunately, this was being heavily promoted the day we visited First Colony. It left a bad impression with us. The throngs of stumbling girls from U of V, however, were leaving with truck loads of it. Make of that what you will. — 9 years ago

Came for the cherry, stayed for the black pepper. The spice lasts throughout the lengthy finish. Would go nicely with a pepper crusted filet or any righteously seasoned beef. — 9 years ago

Veritas is my favorite vineyard in the Charlottesville area. The tasting room is open and comfortable. The grounds offer scenic and pleasing views. For me, the Vintners Reserve is the must have bottle of their selection. — 9 years ago
