I purchased the bottle specifically for paring with spicy hot pot as I rarely drink sweet Champaign and wanted to give it a try.
Beautiful nose of blackcurrant, raspberry, ripe strawberry, orange peel, chalk, and hint of warm spices. Fine persistent mellow mouse. Acidity can barely keep up with the 45g dosage. There is pomelo-like bitterness to keep the sweetness in check as well.
Too sweet for me to drink on its own, but it was a fantastic pairing.

The final wine at the Dom Perignon dinner last Friday night except for a little glass of Hennessy Cognac where I forgot to make notes. The same lovely Salmon/Pink as the 2005. This was more immediately loveable than the 2005 with delicious red fruits - warm and fleshy - sunshine in a glass. An absolute crowd pleaser but shorter term than the 2005. — 5 years ago

Delightful! Paid $29 for a 375 ML bottle at total wine. This is right up there with the Moët. Mimi says they’re comparable and they’re about the same price. Would get it again and again. — 6 years ago
Excellent wine. Paired well with the elk steak I had with it.

$26 for a 187ml split. Slightly sweet in the beginning. Dries out quickly. Nice! Had it at Angelo Elia in Fort Lauderdale. — 6 years ago

Not typically a huge fan of the sweeter stuff, normally a brut drinker, but this is good when paired with salty desserts. Pale yellow, with some floral aromatics dancing out. Great bubbles. Medium bodied. Honeyed pears, apricots, green apples proliferating through each sip. Not much to disagree with. — a year ago
Listen when it’s 90 degrees out, you need some ice in your champs. — 5 years ago
It’s a slightly sweeter version of an already awesome proper French Champagne. Dial back a smudge on the brut and just tweak the dial on a natural sweetness and viola! Nectar imperial! If you were giving someone their very first glass of champagne, I’d recommend this one - the sweetness will win a lot of tongues! — 5 years ago
Well balanced and dry. Get honey and fruit with some mineral tones — 6 years ago
