Really went deep in the cellar for this. Moët & Chandon discontinued their White Star label in 2009 replacing it with their Imperial label. This bottle is probably 15 years old (considering it’s not even the last version of the White Star label). Macerated cherry, walnut, golden raisin, and decomposing apple, with some faint lemon peel and foie gras. No doubt past its prime, but just enough life to enjoy.

The nose is yeasty and a little bit funky, with the smell of a wet sidewalk after a rain wafting in late. Flavors of peaches and apples strain to be noticed above the minerals and toasty notes. It is not bone dry, but the sweetness is quite restrained and the acidity is a notch right over "zippy."

Drank this on my birthday, during the quarantine. I was keeping it for a special occasion. This was that occasion.

My favorite. Kept a White Star around after they changed this to Imperial.
