Seriously delicious. The most memorable cab franc I have had. — 6 years ago
Some thoughts on this bottle:
- The 22 g/L of RS show as about half that and is a component of why the wine tastes objectively delicious. I have suspicions as to why we in Niagara are a bit snobbish about RS but we really ought to get past that.
- Has just the slightest hint on the nose of the distinctive Niagara riesling note of black olive. I’m told that’s due to picking due to weather pressure and picking for necessity rather than phenolic ripeness. Will follow up as to how and when and why here.
- It’s really quite good. Definitely comfortably above average on any grading scale. But not as objectively high-quality as the chardonnay and that seems to hold true for the region. — 7 years ago

One of the better Rieslings I've tried. Minerals. Earthy. Orange.
So. Good. — 8 years ago
The winery is located in Aymavilles with the cellar lying one mile from Monte Bianco tunnel. Ruby with aromas fresh red fruits and floral notes. On the palate flavors of strawberry and sweet cherry with tea and black pepper. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit and spice. Nice! Drink young, no aging benefit. Good value! — 5 years ago
Would order it from Ontario!

The 2006 Rusty Shed Chardonnay is a blend of four blocks of Chardonnay on the Flat Rock Property. Grapes are hand picked and hand sorted before whole bunch pressing takes place. It was then cold settled in stainless steel, 100% barrel fermented and left on the lees for 10 months. Wild and commercial yeasts were used for primary fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to soften the natural acidity. The result?
Beautiful example of a mid to full bodied Chardonnay with butter, vanilla, apples and light spice on the palate. A lot of flavour and elegance at this price point. Sampled this 2006 in 2017 but this should sit well and perhaps develop more for a few more years. Best part? It's from Niagara! Loved it!

First time with the flagship wine after drinking their $25 Cabernet for many years (at least 8 or more). Punches above it’s weight class at $55. I’m disappointed I’ve waited this long. Not overly tannic and sensibly balanced. Will go back for more! — 5 years ago
Really great depth of flavour ranging from raspberry preserves, to macintosh apples, to an earthy, tobacco-y finish that’s pleasant and leaves you gushing. — 6 years ago
Light and fruity. Almost an effervescent quality. Lime zest and tartness come through on the finish. — 7 years ago
Nichole really enjoyed this one! — 7 years ago
