So good. Top three winery for me in NC. A lot of funk in the aroma. Maybe some Brett but doesn’t come through in the taste. — 7 years ago

I LOVE THIS WINE!!!! — 8 years ago
Black as midnight. So dark that you are afraid to spill any of it because it will stain more than grape Kool-Aid! As you swirl it in your glass, the high viscosity makes it seem like it is actually staining the glass. This is powerful stuff! Mending Wall is a great collaboration with Outpost owners (Frank and Kathy Dotzler), vineyard owners (Mark Pulido and Donna Walker) and bringing in spectacular winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown. This petite sirah comes from the Palisades Vineyard in Calistoga (considered one of the best). In just two sips, your tongue will be as purple as a Chow puppy's. Deep dark currant flavors and a long lingering finish. Come to the dark side and get your hands on this soon. They sell out very quickly. — 8 years ago
Well here is another fantastic wine!!!!!! This is Honig from Nappa Valley 2013 Cabernet sauvignon. The cork was perfectly preserved and absorption line was slightly irregular. The color is opaque with a rim of midnight purple on the surface edge. The legs are slow and thick. The bouquet is awesome. Hints of Live oak trees and Spanish moss. There is a spicy note as well as an aroma of wild blooming lilac. The initial palate is blackberry and vanilla. The finish is quick with a sharp tang and a hint of sour apple. The final aftertaste is very buttery! It makes you want to lick your lips and sip again. However, you better sip water between the tastes and have a bite of dark chocolate! BAMB! Love it!
You cant go wrong with Honig 2013 cab. If you decant for one hour, the sour apple finish disappears...

OPAQUE 2014 petit verdot Colina D’Oro Vineyard, San Antonio Winery. The color of coarse is midnight black with a purple reflection on the walls of the glass. The bouquet is CHOCOLATE!!!!!!! OMG... The initial palate has loads of dark fruit and berries, raspberries, and fig. The mid-palate brings on the chocolate and vanilla and graphite. Then comes the long finish with smoke and oak to a dry dry finish!!!!! Still one of my all time favorites from California!!! — 7 years ago

I didn't try the other vintages but this is quite tasty and easy to drink. — 9 years ago
Interesting depth of flavors without being too dry. Great with red meat. — 6 years ago
Blind tasting night - Considered Bordeaux Varietals due to the Pyrazines, and I should have gone old world due to the tart fruit on the pallet.. however it was ripe, and I went Margaret River, Australia.. should have went with my gut. But, it was midnight so I'll blame it on fatigue, ha. 🙃
Great wine from a great vintage - fun fact: this estate is the only other estate to be edited into the 1855 Classification a year later, as a 5th growth, literally hand written into the list. — 7 years ago
Very rich with flavor. More flavor then the regular red ménage a trois. Both are great! — 7 years ago
Hello to my spicy Shiraz lovers! Here is my new favorite Shiraz of all time! From McLaren Vale, its MollyDooker Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz 2015. I love this big spicy chocolate shiraz. The color is darkness at midnight on a cloudy night. The legs are thick and slow. The bouquet is pepper and Black licorice. The initial palate is blackberry and dark cherry with a burst of spice so powerful your eyes start to water! The mid palate is explosive like the sensation you get from a 18 year old single malt scotch - okay, toned down a bit, but for wine...omg! The finish is slow and buttery. The dark chocolate storms the finish and leaves your mouth mildly dry with a thirst for more! At 45 - 50 dollars a bottle, it is pricey but so so so worth it!!!!!! I will buy this as my number one shiraz! This is perfection in a bottle. Ecstasy in a glass!!
Share this with your loved one and indulge in each other. Its not super thick on the palate, but at 17% you better have a glass of water between glasses! This is 11/8/17 - not as good at first, but after doing the Molly Dooker Shake and then a vigorous decant... perfect 10!!!!!!! — 8 years ago
My first bottle of MM. Inky dark, hell its midnight black. Floral and dare I say violet and spice nose with flavors of currants, pine needles, charred meats, freshly picked black and blue berries all rapped in soft tannins that evoke a voluptuous mouth feel that stays on your tongue like a romantic sexy kisses that lingers. Cork wasn’t great but it didn’t effect the wine, still going strong perfect midnight black in color with the great funky nose.
Just a notch below the 2005 which had a fuller body & a nose you could smell 3ft away, — 6 years ago
