Youngest member of the gut oggau family. Fresh, (no malo) vibrant acidity. A bit wild and funky. Got to taste more from this exciting austrian bio producers. — 11 years ago
As a member of the ABC club, I have to admit that I love this Chard. It's smooth and bright like a rich Sauvignon Blanc — 11 years ago
Celebrating #champagneday with this wonderful yummy gift from a wine club member - thanks Tim! — 12 years ago
2008 vintage; great nose of green bell peppers and other clear cab-family-member aromas; high acid, intense and rich but balanced on the palate, with dark fruits, plum, spices, cedar, and some new oak. Delicious. — 10 years ago
2006, St. Francis Winery, Lagomarsino Vineyard Cuvee Lago, Russian River Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah. Part of my stash from when I was a member. Drank a while ago and kept no tasting notes. A big red that was drinking well. — 10 years ago
Received the 2011 Reserve Chardonnay from Riverbench in a member shipment a while back and drank it about a week ago. Riverbench, founded in 1973, has long held a very favorable reputation for producing high quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay out of the Santa Maria Valley. Their winemaker, Clarissa Nagy, has all the tools to make great wine and this is a great example. ~32$ | #riverbench #chardonnay #santamariavalley
On the eyes: starbright, yellow-gold with light stain and med tears. No gas/floc.
On the nose: very buttery with an oaky nuttiness rounded by melon, guava, and pear.
On the tongue: slightly effervescent with med acid, med tannin, and med+ alcohol, floral notes yielding to lemon, melon, and pear on a nice creamy mouthfeel. There's a bit of spice and unmistakable buttery oakiness on the much appreciated long finish. — 10 years ago

Brought home in a suitcase from Tuscany by a family member. Very smooth, delicate, with light fruitiness. — 10 years ago
Absolutely exquisite zin '07. Now planning on visiting Starlite Vineyards and becoming a member. — 11 years ago
An end member style Sangiovese Chianti with its unctuous richness, but incredibly expressive. The tarry dark cherry just explodes in the mouth, transforming to wild dark cherry aromas. Some would say this is only starting to be ready based on the widely accepted formulas, but I would say this is at peak. All depends on what you like, however. — 11 years ago
Powerful aromatics, flowers, tropical fruits, but like with a muscat or a gewurtz... Just too much. A tad too heavy for casual drinking. If served at right temp. It would have maybe presented itself more honourably. A wine with a story. The trigger for a totally inexpected burst of generosity from a member of Eurostar staff.... Detail in person. — 12 years ago
A seriously rockin' dry Riesling from a member of the Rheinhessen "message in a bottle". — 13 years ago

I liked this champagne a lot, mineral/rising bread/very balanced, soft but clean, and then met the family member, and now love it. I think it is totally legitimate to like a wine better when it is made by people you like--the people/story/culture can't be separated from the wine, that's part of the pleasure, part of what makes grape juice into wine. — 10 years ago
