Each week, my 2.5yr old twins have "homework" which requires picking household items that start with a given letter. This week is "I" (there's no "I" in team, or kicking off many household items that would fit in a paper bag and don't melt!). Anywho, It Inspired me to pop this reasonably priced late harvest (Icewine), which Is sweet, refreshing, and even elegant for a very reasonable price. I also included a DVD of Ice Castles - who doesn't love that movie?!?! That and Splendor in the Grass - they get me every. single. time. — 9 years ago
Love the cheap wines that can do this! So fresh and crisp in their youth but give them a few years and all the elements just melt together. fruit, acid and texture become a comfy well rounded, united experience.
Brilliant! — 10 years ago
Such a soft, sensual sauvignon blanc, that really opens up as it warms. Love the jalapeño stone fruit nose, mineral palate w that sauvignon blanc acidity but a touch of neutral oak and some definite lees influence that make the finish seem to melt in your mouth. — 11 years ago
Elmer T Lee, great whiskey for a WWII vet, that became one of America's greatest distiller.
Vanilla, and old leather. Perfect balance of honey with vanilla slightly spiciness, with a long, warm finish to relax and melt the day away. — 9 years ago
Cranberry, currant, blackberry and pepper cooked into venison shoulder. Hen-of-the-woods cooked into its oaken companion! Plenty of oak bark and licorice here. Smoky blackberry and rich earth round out the variegated smells. This is almost Cornas!
Eggshell, cypress wood, grainy tannins and boysenberry to the front lines armed with thorny green weapons which melt into mouth-coating black poppyseed. There is coffee rye and black currant encased in walnut that becomes ensconced, nailed to your tongue with leaden resolve. — 9 years ago
Crazy mix of new world brawn with old world. Mature fruit leads to melt oxidized finish — 10 years ago
Lots of glycerine, lemon oil, white peach and vanillin. Just a tad too oaky IMHO, but I loved the freshness and purity of the fruit and its broad, viscous mouthfeel. Great wine, almost excellent.
Even better on day two! Oak starting to melt into the wine. — 10 years ago
This Merlot gives the sense of melt-in-your-mouth goodness, like a smooth chocolate or the finest of cheeses, and it most likely would go swimmingly with those very items! — 11 years ago
This was one of last wines made by my old friend Joshua Krupp. He was such a talented guy with a great future in wine/life that his loss will forever sadden me. Mountain fruit with great intensity And the heavy tannins have started to melt bringing a silkier mouth feel with a sweet dark fruitcake profile. Lots going on here and only wish I drank it with Josh! Saving the rest for posterity. — 9 years ago
WOW! This Napa Cabernet will melt in your mouth. Black cherry cedar it's just what a classic Napa wine should be. Glad I bought more than one. — 9 years ago
Just like I love it. Structured, melt tannins and fruity. Quiet short lenght. — 9 years ago
Blanco 2012
Great nose of ripe pears, touch of peach with light coconut, persimmon and smokey almond, snow melt mineral touch. Good palate weight with ripe pear, peach and sweet apple, very drinkable stuff. — 10 years ago
100% Chardonnay, 10% fermented in large Slavonian oak barrels. The star of the show tonight. Always difficult to compare anything against a fleet of Champagnes but honestly this is top class, high ranked up in the Sparkling hierarchy. Precision, detail, concentrated but also restrained at the same time. Warm brioche, almonds melt deliciously with notes of preserved/candied fruits. Liquid Panettone, this is a real stunner! — 10 years ago
Lovely, delicate PN, doesn't melt your face. Chris Bratcher is making food-friendly, Burgundian style Pinots. — 10 years ago

Loved this just as much second time around. Melt in the mouth lemon meringue with a delicate effervescence. Happy New Year! — 8 years ago
