Nose is oily and full of liquorice, fennel, lots of tropical fruits, and chalkywet minerals; on the palate the wine is equally oily, fruity, robust, peppery and with a high-octane finish. Cuvee of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (possibly with some Malbec and/or Petit Verdot)

Mature brownish red garnet. Transparent but youthful for its age.

Classic claret perfume from the first second of opening and kept getting better as the night went on. Truffle, shiitake mushroom, old leather, potpourri.

Complete integration with no sign of stumbling over the hill. Bright red fruit, smoky cedar, earthy soil tone, cooking spices. The mouthfeel is supple and elegant, no excess or pretension. Clean and fully mature.

A birthday bottle opened for by a dear friend and a reason why I am so devoted to this wonderful journey. Last long in memory. 92. — 9 years ago

Tart, crisp, citrus, a little minerality on the finish, nicely dry for me, refreshing on a hot day, not much bouquet initially but more after it's been open a bit. I think there is some light pear which I always like. This probably sounds silly, but it seems to have what I would call some light energy to it.
