Susucaru Rosato Malvasia Blend 2021

Good, yet not very ‘special’.
Paired it with Ottolenghi’s Orzo Puttanesca.

Dinavolino Romagna Malvasia di Candida Blend

Ok please don’t like this yet. This needs to be fixed. Funky town for sure. I would say Parmesan cheese. Soon more….Really crazy stuff! Well Kombucha, like quite acidic and astringent, buttery, nose, Muskat - orange blossoms. So much fun but obviously you have to be crazy to ask for this and drink it - even the staff at the restaurant hesitated. — 2 years ago

Paolo Bea

Santa Chiara Umbria Bianco Malvasia Blend 2016

Poured into a Boa decanter about 30min prior to service. The 2016 “Santa Chiara pours a brilliant, deep and slightly hazy copper gold color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with desiccated apricots, dried apples, yellow flowers, and curaçao. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium- tannins. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is super long and super amazing. This is such a wonderful bottle of Bea. When his whites hit, well…they really hit. Drink now with a short decant or over the next 3-5 years. Had it after it was open for 24hrs. Malvasia comes through on the nose. Lots of brûlée, not so much acid. A bit viscous. Something marshmallow-y about the airy sweetness. Very nice — 7 months ago

Gran Selezione San Lorenzo Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2017

Too young but still very nice with a 5h decant - suggest checking back in another 3-5 years. Tannins are very present, but the fruit and earth are very nice. Good acid too, especially for a hot vintage. — 6 months ago

Straw gold color. Blend of Malvasia (45%), Rhein Riesling (40%) and Friulano (15%). Intensely floral on the nose with a hints of apricot, honey and a touch of petrol. Green apple, pear and minerals fill the pallet. Spicy and citrusy finish. Clean and rich. Intense acidity. Outstanding food wine. — 2 years ago
