Different blend from 2011: much more Viognier and Picpoul Blanc. Aromatic and high acidity, given backbone with subtly rich texture. — 11 years ago
Rediscovered in the pantry.... Left behind by my father, who always enjoys a good bourbon. — 12 years ago
Awesome .. Howell mtn rocks — 8 years ago
Surprisingly complex and nuanced. There is an undeniable floral component to this wine that is quite atypical for Zinfandel. Mineral-laced, spicy, elegant and simply delicious. Aside from a hint of blueberry jam this is in no way your typical Dry Creek Zinfandel. Weight and texture are beautiful. Loving the lavender and violets. Easily the best wine I’ve had from Maple Vineyard. This is Zin! — 8 years ago
It definitely needs time to breathe but is very good! — 10 years ago
Wowsa, had this for a few years and what an amazing surprise. A bit of fruit, small tannin so very smooth ending that lingers. — 10 years ago
Nose is exotic, with sweet oak and ripe cherries. Palette is textured and multidimensional. Tannins still provide a nice upright structure, but are resolved. Finishes with a panoply of rich dark fruits, tobacco, maple syrup and nutmeg. I think 08 in Cali was nothing special, but the Rudius winemaker continues to pull off some splendid acrobatics.
If you have this in your cellar, don't leave it too much longer. — 10 years ago

For not being much of a Zin drinker, this is good! — 10 years ago
Still drinks super young. Taking it's time to open up. Lots of fruit and even more tannin to back it up. — 10 years ago
Cassis and vanilla. A fav! — 10 years ago

Nice with grilled honey Aleppo chicken (more so then the Tuscan herbed), and a Jose Llopis cigar. Very pleasing Rhone blend from Paso Robles. — 8 years ago
