We had this last weekend at @plate&bottle dinner. We paired it with Morel Mushroom Gnocchi and then with lamb. Both of those paired well. However, I saved a bottle for this weekend for my Brother-in-law. Tonight we hung in the backyard at Dave's steakhouse. We all ordered the Ribeye. I knew last weekend that the Ribeye would be the ultimate pair and it didn't disappoint. The nose has light barnyard. Leather, tobacco, underbrush, lean ripe fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, black plum and decayed florals. The body is medium with well resolved tannins. It's showing some cooked green pepper. Ruby; blackberries, dark cherries, baked black plum, strawberries. There's a little VA (bandaid), soft leather, underbrush, crushed dry rock, stones, dark rich earth, tobacco with ash, decayed dark florals, round, soft acidity and long, lush beautiful finish with dark spice on the end of the finish. Photos of; Chateau Lillian Ladouys, their old gnarly Cabernet vines and barrel room. A 9.4 with every bite of Ribeye! A recent direct Chateau purchase. — 9 years ago

Terrific wine from Maggie Harrison at Antica Terra. The wine is made in her place in the Williamette Valley, but she gets the syrah grapes from Santa Barbara county (she used to be Manfred's assistant at Sine Qua Non, so she might purchase from him. Not sure). Anyway, this is the "Blue" version of Lillian, which for me boasts an added level of elegance than the (still excellent) regular bottling. Terrific wine, and in my opinion is drinking just about perfectly right now. Great stuff! — 9 years ago

Warming, rich, dried sour cherry. Good alone as a funky but not too funky wine to sip with Lillian after dinner. So delicious. — 10 years ago
This burly beast has gained weight, incredibly, since last tasting. Lots of big brambly berry fruit, firm tannin, hints of asphalt, coffee grounds, and white pepper. Balanced, but lingering. Significant bottle life ahead, but as this wine has only existed since the '04 vintage, it's hard to guess the longevity. Drink or hold. — 9 years ago
With Dan and Lillian at risibisi in Petaluma. Wonderful Italian dinner, lovely wine. — 10 years ago
tasting young and mineral. supple on the palate. — 10 years ago
Awesome!!! Soft and quiet, baking spice and florals. Still very fresh and not drinking like five year old Beaujolais. — 10 years ago
