Buen Bourgogne por el precio. — 8 years ago
Nose is downright decadent. Creamy tropics... Like pineapple upside down cake. Banana, whipped cream, pie crust, but still a bow of minerality holding it together. Palate is much crisper than nose would suggest. Green apple and lemon... Showing great body, M+ acid for chard and lingering finish. Paired with mango shrimp ceviche . Perfect backyard wine. — 10 years ago

Decanted four hours. It made a big difference on this young vintage. Drank it against the lesser Chapoutier juice from Les Vignes de Bila-Haut and it was instructive to taste the difference between the two. The tannins were much rounder and integrated on this one, and the impression of fruit was cleaner... — 11 years ago
2013 Blanc. Starts a little flabby, then peach skin, minerals, good acid grows as Vermentino resins gain the upper hand. Great price ($14)! — 12 years ago

1989 Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Burgundy. Drank at dinner w K and R&M S at The Grill. This bottle was in perfect condition. Awesome. Texture was like velvet and had nose of dark red fruit. — 11 years ago

Chapoutier never disappoints. Nice and light. Raspberry on the nose and palate. Falls off on the finish. Made for hot summer days. — 13 years ago
Yep, this is what aged Riesling is about. Ample acid, fruit, tertiary notes all balanced with a M+ body and length that doesn’t quit. — 7 years ago

Fragrant menthol. Very soft and plush feel, shouts blueberry with a little flowers and spice. Ever so slightly heat on the finish. Very impressive. I'm becoming s fan of m gassier's wines. Very good value. — 10 years ago

The first audible of the night was this stunning 2015 Hubert Lignier M-S-D 1er VV that John pulled out in between the Rabbit and Beef courses. Full disclosure, I get twitterpated when a bottle of H. Lignier gets opened. There’s just something in the style that’s mesmerizing across the range, from the Passetoutgrain to the Clos de la Roche. These are wines of power and grace. Well fruited but with layers of complexity. John considers this to be the best value of H. Lignier’s offerings. Hard to argue. — 7 years ago
