It was way more complex and balanced than 20 would suggest..medium body with medium acidity.. get the berries and tobacco and maybe slight licorice (or something lime it) wish i had eaten som meat with it. — 10 months ago

Another Trader Joe’s gem that made me think I was drinking something far more expensive. Enjoyed with a salad and spaghetti. Spicy and fruity. Excellent wine — 5 years ago
It is very typical of a #supertuscan wine = deep ruby color, medium(+) aromas and flavours of black cherry, red and black plum and hints of cassis and mint with toasty undertones. The tannins need a little polishing. I believe it needs to age. — 5 years ago
Very New World style. By the nose and palate, this one allost seemed to resemble a Malbec. I believe this is 100% Merlot. Decadent black and purple youthful fruit and a hint of chocolate on the nose. Entry is gritty, black and purple fruit with cocoa nibs and herbal character. Herbs carry to the middle where a baking spice note shows, but again this wind seems to have more of a dark purple and tarry black fruit background. Very weighted finish. Thick and inky. I think this could benefit from a few more years of bottle aging but drinking well now! — 7 years ago

The type of wine I love drinking...especially with my wife. So many amazing memories attached to the flavours. 2016 Supertuscans are just amazing 😍 — 9 months ago
Gaja Ca’Marcanda Magari 2017: Smooth. Balanced. Inviting. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. Full flavors. Blackberry. Tobacco. Spice. Earth. Overall, a rich (& lovely) Super Tuscan wine consisting of 60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon & 10% Petit Verdot. Drinking fantastic right now but if given the chance, I would hold. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
This Sangiovese was complex yet explosive and compact - did not like it at first as needed air but got better and opened up as it still a baby - rest them for five years and drink over the next 40 years - not a fruit bomb like I thought but a dancer of tastes and smells - WE gave it 96 and I can see why — 6 years ago
Entry level Sangiovese from a tried and true Brunello estate. Certainly not lacking in structure with black cherries, berries, firm acid, and hearty tannic grip. Pair this with meat lover’s pizza or bolognese. — 7 years ago
Gotta quote the Beatles on this one, “strawberry fields forever!” I don’t know how there is this much wine here for $12.00. Not shy whatsoever on the nose, palate, and finish. Smart integration of oak; it accentuates the fruit by adding nuances of clove, clay pot, and leather. So pretty as well. Potpourri and a pepper medley kick up the florals. Classic juicy tomato on the finish, but those creamy strawberry notes don’t seem to give up. Bravo 👏 — 7 years ago
