Honeyed nose, with peach, apricot, citrus, wet stones, subtle oak and med acid. Oak comes through more on the palate, but isn't intrusive. Nutty, medium bodied, waxy and round in the mouth. Black cherry, boysenberry, blood orange, sassafras, licorice, clove, allspice, tobacco. Dark fruit profile, serious acid and very grippy tannins. A bit hard and austere on the palate right now but has the stuffing to age a few years and round out some of the jagged edges. Fair amount of complexity and depth for a more than reasonable price. — 8 years ago
