Wow. Just wow. How does this 1983 still have this much tannin? Maybe I shouldn't be so shocked, but this wine is just beautiful right now. Soft and approachable on the front, with dark fruit and tobacco and leather. But then some surprisingly strong tannins. How much longer could this 33 year old juice last?! Bravo Gaja. The exact same nose as Barolo lol: tart tomato, orange peel, anise/licorice, and some pepper. A blend of Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. — 8 years ago
