Aging really well (as of May 2018). Smells a little hot and ripe, but mellower than expected fruit. Cherry and apple crisp, without too much jammy mouthfeel. A lot more finesse than expected. Like watching a linesman who can dance the tango. — 7 years ago
First time with this producer. I was pleasantly surprised! Quite quaffable. — 8 years ago

One of my favorites - buttery and smooth. — 8 years ago
Deep amber color shows her double oak nature. Nose of fragrant ester, green apple, oak, and hint of toffee. Very powerful nose. Taste is a dance of hot spice with creamy caramel, around this is some milky vanilla, apple, and chocolate note. Aftertaste is a pleasure with milk chocolate-like sweetness, a bit minty, dried figs, and powerful hot spice at the throats. This is a bold but well polished whiskey. — 8 years ago
Monthly WTF wine group. Special event this month as Ben provided all ‘80s Napa cabs. A few of us chipped in and provided some whites/bubbly.
Toasted Graham cracker, cassis, and even some old cedar wood. Structure was still in tact and young tasting. — 7 years ago
Very fine mousse. Aromas of a partial #barrelfermented base wine and lees, vanilla, cream and pastries. On the palate it has surprising citrus and stone fruit and a touch of elderflower. #southafricanwine #capeclassics — 7 years ago

July 4th Friday was a total blowout! Killer bottles one after another. Here are just a few of the bottles we all enjoyed!
Such a treat to compare this against the ‘08 Schrader To Kalon and the ‘09 Chappellet Pritchard Hill. This was decidedly more dusty. Dark cocoa dusted dates, cassis, and black cherry compote over toasted graham crackers. This was decanted about an hour+ before we got to it and it was still powering through hours later. Thanks, @joe leatherwood . — 6 years ago
Well what can I say. Probably the best Riesling made in the US today. And sadly gone - vines ripped out. 24 cases made in 2015 and pretty much gone at the vinery. Dark yellow already some petrol. 13.3%. The wine holds up for days. Notes are from a wine 24h+++. Mandarin. Peach pits, bitter almonds, gooseberries, very deep and pronounced apricot flavor. This is really special but give it time hours or days to open up!🌈🌈🌈. California history in a bottle. Graham put his heart and soul into this wine. — 7 years ago
Love it! Paired with Manchego Midnight Moon, and Aged Gouda cheeses for the appetizer. — 8 years ago
Rich and concentrated. The elegance and delicacy surrounding the powerful flavors and aromatics are astounding. This is a pivotal wine for the category. Deep dark berry core, Graham/molasses, caramel nuances. Fresh as summer preserves. — 8 years ago
Very good. — 8 years ago

Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!
One of my favorite producers, and likely just entering its prime window (where I imagine it will hold for a decade or so). The profile here is dense yet soft and round. Gorgeous aromatics of baked fig and ripe blackberry with pencil shavings and cassis. Black cherry jam, graham cracker, violets and dusty traits on the palate. Such a delicious wine right now. Thanks @Michael Rariden . — 6 years ago
