Plenty of depth here. Rich and vibrant with a dark plum colour in the glass and black fruit on the nose. A lot of length in the palate with blackberry, a subtle smokiness and vanilla oak. Paired with a grilled pork chop at Royale in Calgary. Delicious. — 7 years ago

Dark fruits, cherry, mushroom, a bit of oak. Should age well, great acidity and balance. Let it breath. — 8 years ago

A wonderful well balanced red, with a full, fruity pallet and a sharp chocolate finish. Delicious with red meat and also a strong cheese but doesn't work well with a strong blue. Highly recommended. — 10 years ago
Had multiple times at Bistro Royale. Excellent French Malbec. Blueberries and menthol on the nose. Great flavor with dark cherry on the back and juicy dark fruits on the front. — 11 years ago
Complex nose of earth, olives and red fruit . In the mouth a battle royale of flavors with none of them able to eliminate another. — 12 years ago

Tiny bubbles dancing on my tongue for a sweet treat! Tastes like grapes...concord like when you drank Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice as a kid. Slight tart cherry keep it from being too sweet. It's really just right :) — 7 years ago
I like that they’re still trading off Queen Victoria. Surprisingly crisp and fresh for its age. Nice balance — 7 years ago
2009 is wonderful right away.. Lovely peppery and deep cherry tones with dry finish.. Dennis's favorite and he even noticed the bottle in the train scene in Casino Royale movie! — 9 years ago

It was a battle royale in Saumur. All of these Chenins were great but both Guiberteau wines shined brighter than Rougeard.. Totally different styles for sure. The Rougeard was definitely a beautiful and unique wine. — 13 years ago
Excellent with grilled steak — 14 years ago

A great Wegmans find! Bright and deliciously bubbly. — 7 years ago
$45 bottle; was much lighter than other CdP, more like a Pinot. — 8 years ago
The smell of cherries is evident Doesn’t have an alcohol taste. No after taste has a thicker taste than what it looks like it would. Plus it’s kosher and can be used for Passover — 8 years ago
Such an enticing and exciting nose. Very drinkable, but noticeably better after letting it air. Little more sour than I generally prefer, but I think a lot of people would enjoy this one — 9 years ago

Reminiscent of Kir Royale with a little floral aroma - really opens up when decanted — 11 years ago
Ok with lamb loins and roasted mixed veg but maybe overpowered / closed? Only decanted for 1 hour. Much better next day — 12 years ago
