— a year ago

It’s the Crianza I was drinking. Expressive nose of red and dark (cherries, plums and blackberries), well handled oak and good acid — 2 years ago

Quatro Pagos Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2009

En el corcho aparece impreso ‘López de Haro’. Se nota los meses (de 15 a 18 de barrica nueva) Equilibrado pero algo corto al final. Bueno pero no como para repetir. — 5 years ago

Finca Torremilanos Blanco Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León 2013

This flinty white is fantastic. Mineral notes come after the first sip and stay with you for quite awhile. This would be good with almost anything. — 8 years ago

Viña Cubillo Crianza Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2015

2015. Wasn’t sure what to pair with this delicious Filipino rice dish with longanisa, chicken, and cumin crab fat butter (likely a wide range of whites, rosés, and lighter reds would work well), but I wanted to try this Spanish Crianza and it was wonderful! The fruit flavors were enough to complement the sweet sausage and the smooth tannins cut through the richness without intensifying the spice. — 6 months ago

Torremilanos Ojo Gallo Tempranillo 2020

“Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur” — 3 years ago

Presas Ocampo Maceración Carbónica 2019

Oaky, dark fruit, coffee, smoky, eucalyptus, underbrush with a smooth mineral salty long finish. Tannins and acidity on the high side but overall it is well balanced wine... Decanting is a MUST!! Nice honest, unpretentious and bold wine that could compliment ANY plate. Guarantee of enjoyment and mood improvement! Testament to things well done ... — 4 years ago
