WOW!!!!! Tonight I have opened my 2009 signed by the wine maker himself after meeting him, Kilikanoon - Green's Vineyard Shiraz of Barossa Valley, Australia. The cork is well preserved but very short, and the absorption is all over the place, traveling up 1/2 of one side of the cork. The color is opaque with a midnight purple hue on the surface edge. The legs are very slow to form and I mean very slow with a thick and slow drip. The bouquet is raspberry vanilla with a hint of spice. The initial palate is blackberry jam and boysenberry with a slap of butter. The finish is dry with hints of kiwi and sweet blackberry. It is not too heavy but heavy enough for my liking - too heavy for most people that I know however. This wine is smoother than smooth. I'm loving this wine. I may drink the entire bottle! WOW! Different in an awesome way! Im sure its sold out and not available anymore! Thank you Kevin Mitchell!!!!!!! I should have bought two cases of this one! All I can say is WOW! Look out cali cab lovers. This shiraz is AMAZING! - the French and Spanish should travel to Australia and take notes! — 8 years ago
So so smooth and settled, fragrant and deep flavours that are subtle and very long and smooth. Had it after airing overnight — 6 years ago
This was before Kilkanoon. 100% from the old vines. The fruit is still strong. Beautifully developed. Elegant and regal. Well done Nick and Sonie! — 6 years ago
The aroma of this wine is full of berries and sandalwood. Definitely unique — 7 years ago
Here is one to lay down for a while.
Also great now but for $40 why wouldn't you wait and be rewarded? — 7 years ago
Enjoyed at Seasons. — 8 years ago
Not overly ripe like the Kilikanoon. More restrained and spicy with earthy/mineral notes. In balance - medium to full bodied - not a Heathcote blockbuster. — 8 years ago
Dark berry fruits. Mocha, spicy flavors with a hint of toasty oak. — 7 years ago
Very nice - An enjoyable Aussie red. Well balanced, with a decent amount of power in the fruit. — 7 years ago
How can one resist that nose of liqueur chocolate? Some sour cherry on the palate, with a little bit of dusty chewiness and stewed fruit. It's rather delicious. — 8 years ago
Wonderful fruity and sweet aroma with dark berries. Powerful flavor with nice tannins. Very nice! — 8 years ago

A really interesting Shiraz Cabernet blend, the Clare Shiraz is the dominant partner in mouth feel but only just, a very good wine for its price point. — 6 years ago
