Wow, an excellent Syrah, well balanced, lovely bouquet, white/black pepper, fine tannins on the mid-pallet, long finish, northern Rhône in style, fruit from Shake Ridge (Anne Kramer), so well made. — 9 years ago
That is some commitment to bust out dual TTB approvals. Worth it though. That is a summer sipping beauty. And I would love it with a side of paella. "Have you ever had really good paella?" Kramer — 9 years ago
Matt and Karen Kramer opened this up in a magnum for dinner. So generous. — 11 years ago
Fun and pleasingly luscious, this sparkling Pinot Gris hit all the right notes: supple beginnings, pears & quince in the body, taut acidity to refresh the palate at finish. Just do it! — 11 years ago
Big fan! Strong clean earthy base, no bitter after taste. Not fruit-forward. Dry, not sweet. Great! With Brooklyn, Elisha & Austin Kramer. 2008. — 7 years ago
On the nose, slightly candied fruits of; dark cherries, strawberries, black raspberries, pomegranate & cranberries. Vanilla, soft spice, limestone minerals, dry top soil and fresh, fragrant red florals. On the palate, ripe & slightly candied fruits; strawberries, black raspberries, pomegranate & cranberries. Nice soft spice, light intensity of baking spices, nice chalkiness, limestone minerals, a little dark turned earth, great acidity and a rich, round, well polished finish. A pleasure. Fair price. Good minerality taste even though I am told the human sensory system cannot "taste" mineral. See Matt Kramer. — 10 years ago
Another great Kramer Pinot! — 10 years ago
2010 vintage. Lovely aromatic nose with high pitched notes. Palate with sweet beetroot and plum. Voluptuous enough to suggest Central Otago if tasted blind. Soft tannins with medium acid. Giving enough personality but also room to develop. I remember reading an article by Matt Kramer a few years ago where he suggested that Sonoma Pinot Noir had gone ahead of Oregon in his opinion. — 11 years ago
I'm on location at #IPNC this year, and have been invited to attend a private tasting at Domaine Serene with winemaker, Erik Kramer. The 2012 Evenstad is, like all of their wines, a study in refinement and purity, with a deep inner perfume of rose petals, dust, forest floor and spice underpinned by alpine strawberries and red forest berries. Pitch-perfect acidity and just the right amount of toast to frame it—spicier notes re-emerge on the finish, with a touch of white pepper adding lift and complexity. — 11 years ago
The ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir by the talented Erik Kramer is a fantastic new wine from this storied Oregon winery. The nose is loaded with red fruits that combine with lighter orange zest and peat moss undertones that round out the enticing aromatics. The texture here is really good, as is the bright, mouth-watering acidity. Red fruits dance with citrus tones and minerals on the palate. Seriously good, enjoy this beautiful new wine over the next decade. Drink 2019-2029- 92

A nice smooth, but full bodied blend. Thought of Annie and she also loved it. One of my favorites. — 8 years ago
Very smooth. — 9 years ago
I get a kick out of Kramer Vineyards showcasing the hybrid Carmine grape, mated from Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Merlot. This Rosé from a cold Oregon vintage is juicy, unexpectedly floral like a bit of Colombard snuck in (but it didn't), and a li'l spiced w earthy masala spices, especially whiffs of cinnamon. Lamb meatballs alfresco on the patio would be so nice! — 10 years ago
Riesling, not Pinot Gris. Crisp light. — 11 years ago
Dangerously drinkable. Juicy yet dry, just the way I like it. — 11 years ago

Representing the best of Serene's impressive Chardonnay collection, the 2012 'Recolte Grand Cru' Chardonnay is a stunner. Using the choicest estate fruit, the Chardonnay saw extensive barrel aging (17 months, 50% new French oak) and displays the best of the fantastic 2012 vintage. This gorgeous bottling begins with aromatics of brioche, hazelnut, Gala apple and suggestions of allspice. There are rich and intense flavors of poached pear, honeydew melon and Fuji apple with a huge finish and lingers for more than 40 seconds. The weight and viscosity is there. Head winemaker Erik Kramer has crafted a hugely impressive effort in this heavyhitter of a wine. This is gorgeous right now but will cellar well for a decade or more. Drink 2019-2032- 95 — 6 years ago
