Juicy, fruity, a little funky, delicious. — 5 years ago
It’s always a little nerve-racking the first time you invite a date to a favorite restaurant. Is he going to like it as much as you like it? Probably not possible. But then you sit down to wait for him and order yourself a snack and end up chatting with the woman next to you for the 30 mins it takes him to show up and she whips out her OWN bottle of the best wine you’ve had in months, who cares how well the date goes. This wine is simultaneously supple and subtle, and holds its own in a current of too many fish. — 6 years ago

Totally delicious natural but clear orange. Bit pricey — 6 years ago
Much different than the Gaston Chiquet we had just before. This was made in a more oxidative style. Lemons and nuts but the acid kick at the end is delightful and I think the dosage brings things into balance. To me, not quite as racy and exciting as the Blanc de Blancs d’Äy but this is a wine of good character. — 4 years ago
Lately I’ve been opening lots of brightly colored fruity Pet Nats of the lightly fermented, softly carbonated category. Like wine’s version of Tepache. I prefer the Pet Nats with some filtration and yeast influence. Give me some crisp and textured bubbles. This Loire inspired Grolleau is more me - a pale rosey gold, muffled notes of candied watermelon, bitter grapefruit pith, and sweet strawberry. More like this please. — 4 years ago

My buddy Ian brand coming correct. Sf chronicle wine maker of the year a few years back. Making a good name for our place Monterey. Listen to the bedrock podcast with Ian! It’s a good listen and the wine is super thoughtful. I can say im super thankful he and heather are keeping this going! Thank you heather brand for pouring and being the great host! Always gracious and kind. Ian and heather are bringing Monterey back up where it should be with the likes of Mark Chesebro (arroyo seco), tira nanza, russel Joyce and a few others. Big ups @Lee Lightfoot for letting me join you and Julie today. No doubt Carmel valley is on the rise again. Worth a visit! Contact me for appointments before summer — 3 years ago
