This special Fresno State Chardonnay release is from their Plano Ranch vineyard rather than the usual Duarte vineyard. It is unbaked or nearly so, with nice kiwi and pear fruits, and a touch of coconut residual sugar to the finish. — 7 years ago
Great sweet wine on hot days! — 8 years ago
Very good. That complex balance of aromas that teeters on the edge between Chardonnay and something more exciting. Minerals (slate), celery stock, lime and a faint creamy/tropical aromas. A fresh low alcohol presence in the mouth at the same time a depth/power/slight richness in texture. My only complaint would be a note of sulfur dioxide. All in all, this is a really carefully made example of the variety. — 8 years ago
Limited production godello. Veryintense and rich. — 9 years ago
The nose offered a beautiful array of cedar and blackberry. The palate was similarly balance. A nice woody start with a very nice dark fruit finish focusing on a chocolate cherry note. It has a nice balance between earthy and fleshy — 9 years ago
Enjoyed following a long road trip while watching Imitation Game during Hurricane Joaquin on Friday 10.03.2015 — 10 years ago
A ton of oak, vanilla on the nose. Blackberry and maybe some black cherry on the palate. Very tasty and big. Wish I was having some pasta with it. — 6 years ago

Awesome for an inexpensive wine! — 9 years ago
Semi-opaque, red with a slightly amber hue. Relatively straight-forward, fruity nose with a touch of hay in the nose (nice hay, not like barnyard!). Really smooth, full body. The off-dry flavor profile has a lovely, light peppery-ness that floats over juicy, ripe blackberry. Gentle oak almost gets completely swept up in the big, ripe berry flavors of this wine, but is present. The thick, fuzzy tannins catch up with you in the finish, but are not at all unpleasant. There is enough acid to the wine to keep it from feeling flat, and is quite nice.
Overall, I think this is a really beautiful wine that would likely pair well with an array of food and cheeses. Of the cheeses I tried it with, it was particularly beautiful with the San Joaquin Gold (reminiscent of Parmesan)--which made the berry flavors of the wine almost jammy--a cow's milk cheese with a basil crust and and Swiss and almond spread.
This was a wine I received from Bright Cellars. — 9 years ago

This wine from 1890's vines in the San Joaquin River Delta Sand was really great. Have another bottle so it went to bottom of the rack. Dark berry with very smooth long finish — 7 years ago
This is Tioga-Sequoia Brewery's Joaquin Murrieta Chili Beer. Where do I start? The terroir? (Fresno, where so many good things come from, grows the chiles, that make this beer a spicy, hot and cold phenomenon) The smog? The heat? The complicated geo-political space? The morlock valley we all are happy to disparage with one side of our mouth while stuffing it's stone fruits in the other? Sharp, hot chile flavor in the front, round, smokey, still hot chile flavor in the back. Lingers a long time on the exhale. A yeasty, wheaty nose doesn't give any of it's secrets away. I haven't seen this gracing the supermarket aisles any where else but Fresno, so if you find yourself there, grab some. 2017 — 8 years ago
A nice smooth slightly creamy SB. — 9 years ago
Really fantastic... all of the nuances came out as I let it warm a bit: raw almond, poached pear, green and yellow apples, nice acidity, salted caramel, buttered brioche, and oddly enough a little earthiness on the finish that reminded me of white button mushrooms and white pepper. It was fantastic with a little San Joaquin Gold cheese before we had our dinner. Now I wish we had another bottle. — 9 years ago
