This is a great CC. This sangiovese blend has typical sour cherry flavors enhanced by violets, thyme, oregano, leather, and sweet tobacco. Very well balanced with juicy acidity and medium tannins. Great finish. This is a real bargain at $20!

After a two-year pause, we arrive again to the day when Beethoven concludes on these hallowed grounds. The 9th by Beethoven is always bittersweet for us, as it marks the end of the official Symphony and Pops season for the BSO at their Summer home. It is a wonderful and singularly emotive piece moved with the full force of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus (110+) conveying the message of a divine spark of joy that makes all people one. The music and the day almost bring me to tears on an annual basis...

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this afternoon for Andris Nelsons conducting the BSO on their final program at their Summertime home. Today we get to enjoy some Ives and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9, a well known and familiar movement by the BSO, so bittersweet in marking the end of the summer in Lenox.

Light yellow-green on color. Nose is beautiful white flowers, Gardena, Honeysuckle and Orange blossom, just wonderful. Palate is lightly sweet, but so well balanced with savory notes, minor frizzante and medium-low acidity. A great bottle for $15, paired with the perfect late-summer afternoon. — 8 years ago
