For someone who doesn’t like Chardonnay... this is delicious! — 6 years ago
Day 2: aromatics are lifted with strong floral characteristics, red cherry, and tar. Fresh red cherry and apple skin abound on the palate with softened tannins and a touch of chalk to finish. Well done. — 7 years ago
Great wine...I think I love These types of wine. ... buy again! Bought at Irvine ranch market — 8 years ago
Must decant/air for 3+ hrs.
Opens up to a sumptuous wine. Dark plum coloured. Earthen nose. Leather, must, dried violets but with subtle blue berries. Fantastic mouth feel. New world with forward fruits heavy and rich. Vanilla, licorice and cola. Medium plus tannins. Would not pair with rich meat or steak. Hard and semi-hard cheese should be good. — 9 years ago
Smooth red, slight hint of tannin, dry finish — 11 years ago
Drank with Shawn Smith in Irvine. A little less spice than the ‘98; quite good and complex overall but even after 90 minutes in the decanter I think it could have used more. It kept getting better. Always enjoy Pegau. Decent amount of sediment in the bottle. $190/RP 98 points. — 3 years ago

Sparkling Shiraz on Christmas Day to go with the Roast Turkey is a tradition in Australia. An interesting story from the back Label. Released only in small quantities and only in exceptional years. Seppelt first began producing Sparkling Shiraz in the 1890s thanks to Hans Irvine. Apparently there was intense debate between Seppelt winemakers as to where the best fruit was allocated - the Sparkling or the Still. Eight years on lees. These are made to be 30 year Wines. Berry and Herbs. Concentration and length with the bubbles. Made from Seppelts best old vines. Sensational! Long life ahead. — 8 years ago
Perfectly balanced in complex merlot. This shames some sloppy right bank merlot — 10 years ago
Thanks to my boss Joel Hunter who gave me this bottle of his winery Hourglass, he is a business partner of the Hourglass winery, I work for him in Irvine, CA. The wine is velvety smooth with a balance of the cherry and currant berry flavors and the smooth tannins and fine American oak notes. Happy 4th of July to my fellow American friends 💥🦅🎆🔔🇺🇸🍷❤️🤍💙 — 3 years ago
Cherry, currant, raspberry, vanilla, mossy earth and oak. Medium-bodied and good soft tannins. — 5 years ago
