A beautiful color of ruby with a wide brick/ orange rim.
Still very fruity on the nose with blackberries, blueberries, sweet cherries, figs, spices, cedar, vanilla, earth, leather, licorice, eucalyptus, pencil lead, black olives, dark chocolates, coffee, coke, spices and black pepper. What a great nose.
Medium plus in body, and elegant, with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, earth, licorice, cloves, herbs, wet leaves, vinaigrette, vegetables, dark chocolates, graphites, dark coffee, Indian spices and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with very little tannins and tangy strawberries.
This is a great experience. A very interesting Zinfandel from an iconic Winery in Napa Valley. Well balanced and enjoyable by itself or with food.
This 41 year old is still showing lots of fruits with great complexity. Very gentle and soft on the palate. Great mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and died after 2.5 hours of airtime, so drink up. Soft tannins came out after 2 hours of airtime.
13% (unbelievable) alcohol by volume.

12 years old and still vibrant and rich in flavors with sediment at the end. Dark with complex red fruit and a touch of oak to highlight the mouth coating body. Elegant finish!!! Top level 2005. — 6 years ago

Stellar Cabernet from Inglenook!! very rich and balanced and much life left. Quite young but not overly tannic. Continued to evolve for more than an hour. Ripe but not alcoholic. A pleasure to share with friends and a fine meal. — 4 years ago
1972 Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon "Limited Cask" Cask 60. At 46 years old, this wine is holding up remarkably well. Nice dark ruby color with little to no browning on the edge. Soft cherry-like aroma with a light cedar note. Firm acidity with cherry fruit. Great texture on the palate. Fruit lingers well into the finish. Not drying out at all. Classic older Inglenook Cab. Perfect now, if well cellared. — 6 years ago

Opened up at the right time, with the right people, with all the other awesome vintage Napa wines being opened. To me, this one shows incredible youth for being 41 years old. This wine has a nose of blackberry and fig. Black pepper and spice. Enters with a little bit of a nitrogenous and barnyard character, but wow what a youthful exuberance it still had. The cork was withdrawn intact. With probably about 25% of the cork with seepage but the other 75% completely dry and intact. With many vintage Napa, I find myself being a little bit bored with just one taste. Yet I found myself going back to this one time and time again. if you are still holding one of these, now is the time to think about drinking these in the company of your best friends. — 5 years ago

Rumor has it that the cuttings of SH came from Inglenook, which ultimately came from DRC. Interesting theory. SH has always been an odd duck in Napa. Spring Mt Pinot, that is muscle and elegance in one package. So I'm going with it... Beautiful wine. Elegant and powerful at the same time. Loads of red currant, Asian 5 spice and rose oil. Pure aromas and fruit. Perfumed, exotic and texturally sleek. Minor alc on the finish, but I've tasted many hotter Burgs. What most new world Pinots wish to be! — 9 years ago
