Fruity well-balanced Italian with strawberry and raspberry flavors and a smoky finish. — 2 years ago
Any wine that can shine from a plastic cup deserves extra kudos. Mistook for a Northern nebbiolo with its structure, detail, & balance, but the fruit is pure southern, pomegranate & black currants. Eye opener (esp for 30$ list). Want to re taste in proper stemware. I think 80% nero di trioa 20% montulpiciano — 8 years ago

In a great spot. Rich, elegant, soulful. There’s some power underneath that silken mouthfeel. No rush on this one, tertiary tones moving forward. Nose is gorgeous, leathery, floral, foresty. — 10 months ago

Blackberry blueberry bramble. Smarties. Pitty. Inky marker. Sweet on the nose and concentrated. — 6 months ago
Surprisingly fresh & bright with dark cherry and tomato leaf and (nice) animalistic notes.
Bright acidity on the palate, (still) quite chewy tannins, and, again surprisingly, pure dark, pure fruit. Still continues to open up (!) and is, after some time, very elegant. A truly nice one! — 7 months ago

One of my favorite roses from the summer. Nice salmon color. Nice rounded taste. Prefer the bolder red grape roses. This paired really well with arugula/peach salad and pork chop. — 8 years ago
Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 8 years ago
