This was a favorite during the beau vigne tasting so we took it home. Very ripe and spicy. hunnicutt has similar richness but not as zin-like. Maybe a little more sweet (but not to a bad level). The beau vigne reminded me more of a turley. I like the 2014 hunnicutt zin better than the 2014 cab while the 2013 cab was a showstopper. Both are 93 — 7 years ago

Zin flight. Venge was fave actually. Venge, turley bedrock, gallo, and chase were all pretty similar stylistically and relatively restrained than the other 2 (hunnicutt and b cellars) Hunnicutt was very ripe, giant nose, a little hot, but tons of flavor. It needs air probably. The b cellars was softer than the rest with a little vanilla. — 7 years ago
Rounder and probably more balanced than the beau vigne haypress, which had more zin qualities and bigger tannins/spice/punch. Softer but still loaded with fruit. Black cherry/plum with a little licorice. Doesn't have the baking spices of the hunnicutt zin. Got some pepper. Great price out of all the venge made zins. — 7 years ago
excellent but very young. decanted 3 hours and drank over the next 3. all the other descriptions are dead on. the tannins are very pronounced upon open and very present after 2 hours. it loosened up and was very drinkable after 3.5. tried this against the 2013 Hunnicutt which was more approchable after 2 hours. served with ribeye on the grill paired perfectly — 7 years ago
Great nose. Nice mouth feel. Finish is a little short but it's a young wine and I didn't decant long enough. Should open. — 10 years ago

Side by side with the 2015 hunnicutt cuvee equite. Man i love both these wines! These are 94-95 pts for me all day long. Both lush, dark fruit. The hunnicutt is a merlot based wine but it is right there with the big boy cabs. Scarlett is all about the sweet fruit where the hunnicutt has more spice. — 7 years ago
