This doesn't taste the jammy hot Zinfandels I've grown familiar. Still good amount of fruit. Acidity is demanding cure meat. — 8 years ago
Enjoying this gem with my Valentine, spaghetti w/ home made sauce — 8 years ago
Plavac is a close relative of Zinfandel that is still widely grown in their ancestral home of Croatia. Softer and less boisterous than its well known American cousin. Black tea, licorice, and pepper back up the fruit notes of black cherry and blackberries. — 10 years ago
Five years cork age on this beauty; glad the decision was taken to drink (now who relies on natural cork); wildly full of pinot noir development; nose heaviness; layers of mature pinot tertiary aromatics; such as herbal oils, deep nuts, mushroom, aged yeast bits too; drunk with raw scallop, celery, fennel shavings, mullet bottarga; dressed with lime, olive oil; Pol brings out the savouriness of the green vegetables; salt of the sea, sweetness of scallop; all veges home grown; palate is full on; powerful, not the massiveness of Winston Churchill but same mould; square wine which hardly tapers in the mouth; the amazing feats of champagne! @polroger #polroger #champagne #1999 #pinot — 10 years ago
Had this wine with home grown beets and local NH roast potatoes and a beet salad from the fresh picked leaves. The steaks were coated in a dry rub by Scott and buffalo steaks cooked med rare on the grill. — 11 years ago

Great with home made brownies. — 11 years ago
This wine needs good flavors to bring out its best qualities, had this with duroc pork, lentils with home grown beetroot and parsley. Wine would go well with any full bodied pasta or lamb chop. Really great food wine.

Impressive home grown Cabernet. Elevating expectations for CO wine. — 7 years ago
This 7 year old Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills was bright and lively, earthy and bold with a hint of black pepper on the long finish. Full bodied and lush. The Hubers are a small family farm with a quaint tasting room in their home on Hwy 246 between Buellton and Lompoc. Purchase this bottle at the winery in 2013. — 8 years ago
Light color makes it look home made. Dry not dusty. Best Grenache I've had so far. — 10 years ago

Have been saving this 1997 vintage for a special day and Father’s Day 2019 arrived. We grilled a 12 oz rib eye, asparagus, baked potato and had home grown tomato..... Opened and aired for 1hr. Beautiful! Soft but definite black cherries, hint of coffee and whiff of dark chocolate. Smooth taste that lingers with minimal tannins and the taste with a bit of bitterness at the end that adds to the taste. Excellent! — 6 years ago
