The one and only, Pliny The Elder, hard to find if you are not here on the west coast, King of the IPA's , is it worth all the hype and trouble, I would sincerely say yes, you are still a beer geek virgin if you have not had this, it is so well balanced with big hops, citrus and tropical notes,truly a remarkable beer, there other beers that come very close to this perfection , but fall just slightly below the high bar this beer has set, I have this on tap at my favorite brewery, if you follow my posts you know where that is, now Pliny The Younger, that is a little more hard to get, you need to buy a ticket for that, after a few times, I got one, will review that one soon, the best way to get this beer outside of the area it is brewed in, Soma, is beer trades with other beer geeks, I will trade this for Hop Slam, Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, those are some of the more popular trades from West Coast to East Coast beer geeks, well worth seeking out, not impossible to get, not like the "Younger" — 10 years ago

Back in the early 90s Moss Wood used to make this standard Cab and also a Reserve which spent an extra year in French barriques. This was the standard and was magnificent. Nose of cedar, black currant and herbs. Brilliant mature Cabernet. Could have easily been a high ranked left bank classed growth. This is why one cellars wine. — 9 years ago

Fresh and lively Tinta Amarela from Estremadura. High elevation keeps the acid bright, foot-trodden and open-top fermentation keeps the fruit sassy. An hour west in Portugal they call this here grape Trincadeira. Definitely bistro-friendly for roasted critters! — 9 years ago
