Nose has powder sugar dusted lemon torte, wet slate, dry lemon zest, powdered sugar and lime peel.
Palate has beautiful lemon curd pastry, lime zest, under-baked pastry dough, ethereal sugar from angels lightly dancing but never touching the ground, medium acidity in perfect balance.
Might be the best Feinherb ever...? I cannot wait for this to evolve in the coming days.
Decanted 4H at time of notes, more time appreciated; notes to be updated on day three.
144 Hour Update: Nose has orange zest, lime zest, powder sugar dusted flakey pastry, peach skin and dehydrated orange. Palate has lime peel, lemon flesh, ripe nectarine, confectioners sugar, nectarine flesh and faint moist sandstone notes. A beautiful wine, but now score improvement. Sweet at first and then tart to finish. A very good contrast. Not too sweet and not too tart. My favorite wine so far. — 3 years ago

I tried both the 18 and 19 and liked both, but bought the 18. I was surprised to like the 18 more given the vintage, but I guess that’s why we shouldn’t assume before tasting! — 5 years ago
Great standby Riesling and an excellent value at ~$16-18 - a tinge sweet and leans towards the plushier, fruitier Riesling style. Very low petrol notes, tastes like honeyed green grapes, white flowers. — 9 months ago
First time drinking a Ludes Riesling. Screaming acidity, peach, hint of tropical fruit, apricot, pear, green apple. — 2 years ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. Blinded a dear buddy in the wine trade on this tonight, guesses all over the place, in a great spot, want to see this in 10+Y.
72H Update:
Nose has crushed blackberries, ripe plum, dried plum, dried tart cherries, moist mahogany and faint moist soil. Palate has tart plum, light molasses, blackberry compote, faint leather notes and fine tannins. Not as good as day one, but no slouch on day three. A wonderful experience, many years in the bottle to go ahead. — 3 years ago
Clean red/blue fruit with touch of earth. Not particularly complex. — 5 years ago

Excellent. Fresh, fruity, and very drinkable. Juicy and delicious. Quite dry. Little finish, but who cares. Wish I bought more. — 9 months ago
