Distinct flavors. Dark black cherry. Chocolate and tobacco. Smell and taste the terroir. — 7 years ago
Not that familiar with Zin but had a good mouthfeel, not much tannin, strawberry up front and was good with steak. — 7 years ago
Good... let’s do this again — 7 years ago

Unreal. Barrel fermented. White wine from pinot noir grapes. Beeautiful. — 10 years ago
Primary blackberry compote and cedar flavors. Balanced out at this point in its life. Really good, reminds me of Frank Family Vineyards with more acidity. — 11 years ago
One of my favorite reistlings! Smooth and not too sweet, when I open a bottle I tend to drink the whole bottle! — 4 years ago
I feel that this is probably the best Pinot Noir producer out of the finger lakes although the competition is finally a good one. The nose has a wonderful aroma of currant a plum with undertones of spice including nutmeg and mulling spices. The palate is gorgeously light and elegant but still somewhat juicy at the same time. Flavors of plum, sour cherry and baking spice along with wonderfully balance acidity. The finish is soft and elegant with juicy fruit notes of lingering acidity. Wow... a great pairing for roasted pork. — 7 years ago

Good combo of fruit and spice. Easy to drink and good price point. — 8 years ago
"I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is at Calon"... I can see why Nicolas Alexandre Marquis de Segur said these iconic words after having this wine in my glass. The nose is so inviting with warm spice, cigar smoke, embers, and toast. Raspberry syrup, plums, vanilla, and toffee on the palate. Nice thread of smoke throughout with nice balancing fresh fruit. What an enjoyable wine! 20 months in new oak - obviously the more accessible style the new owners are going for... the Pinot the other night gave an experience, this one tells a story. — 9 years ago

Not too sweet, nice slightly dry finish. — 5 years ago
Last night, a buddy of mine who’s a Disabled Veteran and Registered Architect, announced that he was assuming control of a SDVOSB Architecture firm. He had spent the better part of a year of trying to reach a purchase agreement. So it was an evening of celebration. He’s been a Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars fan for some time and he planned to pull the cork on a few bottles. We had a couple of rando bottles too but all were California Cabernet Sauvignon. This was the opening salvo and a very good one at that. Perfumed, lush, velvety fruit with lovely structure. Hugely quaffable and already drinking very well with a short decant but I think this is pretty characteristic of the 2014 vintage. — 6 years ago
Soo good. — 7 years ago
Amazing wine......drinking with Rob K who just got promoted (again) to Full Prof (yes the spelling of Full is correct).....at this rate he will be Dean of the Faculty by August. Wine is a wild mixture of petroleum, chocolate, toffee, blueberrys.......everlasting finish......for a 2002 this thing is hitting its prime right now — 8 years ago
It was my wedding wine, I am biased. — 9 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Tried several bottles, all great! Founded by Cody and Marque Wright, yes that family of the great Ken Wright Pinot’s very nice small production Pinot, 1700 cases, sourced from 8 vineyards. Ruby, purple hues with aromas of blue and red fruits with an array of spices. On the palate youthful flavors of cherry and fresh strawberry, licorice notes with elegant spice. Fine tannins, long ending with fruit and tangy spice and mineral notes. Great now but a few years will bring out more of the wines complexity. — 4 years ago
