Beautifully balanced this layered Merlot shows delightful hints of dark chocolate, pepper with traces of vanilla. A proud Canadian spending 21 months in French oak then aged another 12 months before its release it is a prime example of how far the Okanagan wines have come in and finally earning the right to be on the stage of truly great wines. A stunner. Opened with that rustic cab smell. Not sure what lies beneath that initial nose. And then just pure explosive goodness in the glass. Black fruit, swirling with brown fruit in every sip. Lingering finish made for a wonderful moment or two. — 6 years ago
