My absolutely favorite variety from Alexander Valley. Dark berries, apples 🍎and pears 🍐. Muy Delicioso! — 4 years ago
Had a splash from a bottle opened the night before. Need more. But that was good! — 5 years ago
Fruity, smooth, not sweet and jammy. Very low tannins. Medium to light body for a zin. Katie and Didier brought it from Cali — 7 years ago

This took some time to open up. Kind of unyielding on the nose and bitter in the mouth on day 1. But on day 2, there’s classic, musky, tropical fruit and stony minerality, along with a meadow flowers note. On the palate, there’s a lot of dry extract here, imparting a phenolic bitterness initially, that gives way in the finish to more fruity notes. Bone dry, and the alcohol is showing a little in the finish as well. But lots of character in a somewhat gangly format. Thank to my brother for the gift! — 3 years ago

2011 Vintage. 53% Syrah, 32% Mourvèdre, 15% Grenache. 15.1% alcohol. Another great 2011, skilled winemakers did best. “It’s been a crazy year,” said vintner Scott Hawley of Torrin, recounting an unusually cool year in Paso Robles and a late frost that hurt several vineyards. But it’s the low yields that appear to be the big story in Paso in 2011. "We harvested anywhere from 33 percent to 50 percent of our typical production,” said Terry Hoage of Terry Hoage Vineyards. “Ouch!"” — 6 years ago
Great Sonoma Wine, smooth and full body. Hint of sweetness and berry flavor. Purchased in Sonoma years past, opened for vday. 2/14/17 — 7 years ago
I love every wine @lawestatewines make. @Viquel Hawley, kudos! This one is great ! Wish I had the discipline to let 'em age. — 8 years ago
Enjoyed at Harley Winery tasting. Preferred this to the jammy and big zins. — 2 years ago

Hawley gets it right every time. This was just perfect with blackened salmon. — 4 years ago
Interesting. Our first sparkling Viognier. Looking forward to more. Edit: on further review, it was discovered that we had previously enjoyed a sparkling Viognier, also from Hawley, but from 2018. Thoroughly enjoyed both. — 4 years ago
Blueberry and blackberry overtones. Smooth silky. A nice lingering finish — 5 years ago
Shannon liked it. I didn't get to try. She said it was "Riesling sweet". Brought over by Dolleen — 7 years ago
Great acid. Vibrant red fruit on entry and mid-palate. Could go another 5-7 years! — 8 years ago

NOSE: grassy lemon and a little cream. Typical sauv blanc.
TASTE: as the nose, plus lime, but a little flabbier than I like. 89. — 2 years ago
