I’ve only had Torrin’s Syrahs, and they are one of the few Paso producers who seem to knock it out of the park for my style. Glad I got to try this.
My first note here was strawberry purée alongside black peppercorns. Very aromatic and pretty, with plenty of spice and red fruited aromatics. Gorgeous red/light purple in the glass. It’s one of those wines that has a richness to it without being flabby. Good acidity. I pop and poured this and it was ready to go, with more spiced red fruit on the palate like rhubarb, crunchy underripe blackberries, herbal spice and more peppercorns. I re-corked and had the remaining third later in the evening and it seemed to have bulked up. Good now, and has room to improve a bit. Delicious.

Late night snack,
My favorite Maven of the 3 vintages I’ve tried, 14,15,16
This wasn’t 100% Grenache like the other two, this has 7% Mouvedre.
